Where did you come from & why?

I was invited by a former SD mod, that thought my info would be good here & e-intro'd me to Wild.

I posted a few times & then got busy doing some MMA related media, but Wild & I kept in touch by Twitter.
I would give props & retweets to here when i could (even if I was not posting a lot).
I came back & started posting again.

I like both this board & SD for vastly different reasons.
the convo's are more personal here & I like that a lot

SD is great for mass convo, but with larger numbers you get more stupidity
I think it better than it used to be though, but the trolling is still abundant due to volume
The mods are both boards do a great job.
i just wish SD would be better at banning members that get banned & create new names immediately & go back to trolling, but its still a fun place.

I hated Twitter & never got the appeal of UG

Good job by Wild @Wild La Paix @BirdWatcher & Splinty @Splinty

I was an early account at the UGH and posted a grand total of 2 times as it was negative as fuck but had mma news/goings on which I found interesting so I would lurk and read....no screen names had any personality to me except Galanis for no reason other than he registered as someone
Sherdog had a good fight finder but a grade school layout (until they stole this sites layout) and I used it to search fighters records and that was that........always thought of it as a 10 years old and under website

Saw someone post on the UGH “the guys are pretty cool at themmacommunity.com” and this place has been fucked with my presence ever since......everyone was welcoming and Wild @Wild put out a thread “hey lurkers, sign up and contribute”
I did and posted and was waiting to go to war with a bunch of smartasses but it was all “welcome”, “glad you joined brother”, etc etc

I was tired of being banned at Sherdog and having to constantly create new names just to get banned again. They were begging for members of my caliber at the time so Splinty @Splinty threw me some pretty good cash and I brought a few members of my old crew over and this place took off.

Pretty good chance you can say that we saved this place. La Paix @BirdWatcher wasnt very receptive to Splinty @Splinty paying for high quality poster like us but I think even he has come around after the sites success.

Someone mentioned it over on another site. So I joined but only for a few days since I'm a creature of bad habbits.

But that place is disgustingly toxic. And the block feature doesn't work. So it's impossible to filter out trolls and assholes.

Once I cam back a second time, I never looked back. Deleted my account there.

I'll pop in once a month or two, and it's still absolutely disgusting. Pathetic people who spend their days breeding hate towards others based off of gender, sexuality, race, and political stance.

Here, people with differing views are still friends, which is how it generally works in real life, aside from psychos

I was picked up on waivers.

Actually, I was noticing myself becoming negative as a result of all the negativity on the UG, but I’m not a negative guy by nature. I did a search for other MMA blogs and found TMMAC by chance. Never looked back. I would say I now spend >95% of my online MMA time here.

I hear that
When I first joined SD, I found myself e-fighting with trolls & falling into that trap too.
Then I realized that was stupid to participate that way
Plus I found the "ignore" feature

The original reason I came here was seeing someone get doxxed on the UG. Interestingly enough that person came here for a while then went back to the UG seemingly having some kind of weird beaten wife syndrome.

I still use SD pretty often and once every month or two stop by the UG just to bear witness to the cesspool of vileness it has become.

I had nothing to do with the creation of the site. Iirc Wild @Wild sent me a pm on the UG inviting me me to check out tmmac 2 weeks in and I accepted. He asked if I wanted to be a mod and then during UFC 189s international fight week MMAHAWK @MMAHAWK and I spread the good word of tmmac which skyrocketed my MMA forum status to admin. That fight week was easily the best MMA related experience I ever had. We were handing out t-shirts and stickers to fighters and fans and spamming the place with business cards while meeting almost every big name you could think of.

That was my opening but I've stayed on with great moves like banning Disciplined Galt @Headbutt for a month and then handing out our first 3 day pinking to @conor mcgregor nut hugger the day before a Conor fight.

I don't understand the first part
if I was ever banned or anything from a forum, I'd never go back.

He didn’t get banned, some people who were fighting with him put up his favebook, address and other personal information in the thread.

The UG used to piss me off. Paid membership before you could share pics or gifs, and little to no Bellator coverage. They would wait till maybe 30 minutes before an event to even start a discussion thread for them, if at all. Someone told me about this place, I tried it in December of 2015- I don't remember the exact card, but Josh Thomson was headlining a Bellator card.

Loved it and never looked back. That place (the UG) was a shithole, and I don't imagine it's gotten any better.

I moved here from the UG. Over time I just lost respect for the founder of that place. I don't think he's a terrible person, but I don't think he's a very good one. I hate saying that.

I think I used the ugh for about a month and iirc I saw a link to TMMAC there and never went back.

I used sherdog for a while before that time but never posted much. sherdog is only useful to kill time at work reading endless one liners stroking your ego thinking you are so much smarter than all those peoples. it can still be dangerous though as the main ufc forum on sherdog can give you cancer.

the Boxing and Muay Thai/Kickboxing subforums on sherdog are legit as fuck though and I spend more time there than on TMMAC lately because mma is boring.
