FYI
I have the a version that is 3 hours 11 minutes

I downloaded as soon as it ended because I have seen joe edit them up before

I think he has edited this one twice, once a few hours after the show and once when he woke up this morning or late last night

probably 3 versions of it now

I have only seen a few clips that people created so most of it I have not listened to

Winklejon is a knob.
That's what I took away from it. Even after listening to both sides of the story. It's hailrious that a coach in an individual sport would call someone selfish. Particularly a guy who fights every 45 minutes

The problem with this Winklejohn statement is that it doesn't address any of Cowboy's complaints. It also makes it sound like Cowboy's issue was with Perry which he very clearly outlined it isn't.
This.

It's also cute the way he obviously thinks he's a bigger deal in the MMA community than "little brother" Jackson and "he doesn't do enough for me" Cerrone. Makes Cowboy's story seem even more credible.

I can see both sides of discussion. A lot of he-said and she-said type of back and forth. The only thing that is clear at this point is that Cowboy needs to leave that gym forever. He obviously is burned out on them and they on him. My gut impression is that Jackson/Wink just decided to upgrade to a fighter that is 10 years younger and try to build him into something. That's 10 years more income.

It's their MO, brought in GSP to replace Diego, Jon Jones to replace Rashad, Overeem pushed out Arlovski, now Platinum Braindead Perry to replace Cowboy

It's just another side of the game. It's a business after all.

Yep and I can see both sides having their pain points. I do side with Cowboy a little bit since it sounded like this started years ago and has devolved into the situation that blew up. I'm sure Cowboy was being emotional about this (he was drinking and hitting a J while talking about this stuff) and Winklejohn has a business to consider etc etc. But again, it sounds like this has been brewing for a while and with other fighters having come out in the past and making their comments I think the culture change in the gym is the root cause that JW is failing to acknowledge here.

IMHO, loyalty is a huge element in MMA gyms regardless of how "selfish" the sport is. MANY people will not leave their gym and will stand by them due to loyalty to the instructors, head coaches etc when they probably should be looking around for more appropriate training for where they are in their careers. It happens on all levels, it's not just elite fighters going through this. Many times gyms don't show the same loyalty in return so conflict ensues and we have a situation like this.
agree. like. informative.

Winklejohn did nothing for his case with that response. Makes him sound like exactly the kind of guy Cowboy said he was and him avoiding the really important issues about the McDojo deal and strangers coming in and sparing with fighters makes him look exceptionally bad.
