Mosque leader calls on governments to ban “hate speech”









New Zealanders across the country stopped to recognize the Muslim call to prayer as news anchors and armed police officers wore hijabs in solidarity one week after the Christchurch mosque massacre.

The call to prayer preceded a two minutes silence. The video below appears to show the event at a shopping mall.






In other capital cities such as London, “Allahu Akbar” rung out in memory of the victims.

Cops armed with assault weapons standing guard outside places of worship.
This kind of open carry I’ve never seen before.

maybe if it wasn't so hard to EDC, there wouldn't have been an attack in to begin with...

but I'm hard-pressed to understand the purpose of putting armed cops outside of such places.

I disagree, respectfully.
To debate with you my friend, I’m way out of my depth.

My take after being here, is somewhat different. There’s lots of hugs, people seem closer. It’s been a couple of days, it’s shit, everyone is sad - but yeah.

guessing it's like Al Jazeera referring to Pat Robertson as a 'well-known Christian leader'
