He signed it when he was the president with final say on it passing or not.

It was in that specific NDAA that passed on his watch...blame whoever u want, but legalizing propaganda against the people is a very fucked up thing to do.

Nothing I post is about left/right FYI

He should have vetoed it and made it clear that propaganda was being legalized, if it passed again after making a stink/veto about it then so be it(most vetoes bring about change and are not overridden)...all those who voted yes on it, and he are to blame...fuck all those slimey sellouts
Okay, fair enough. His dumb ass should've done something about citizens united too, but he left that shit as well. I think that one is far more damaging, imo.

Let me know when they get unions out of politics and I will talk about Citizens United. They just tried to even up the playing field and it’s still not even close.

Here's what you don't realize. Everytime an American kills a large group of people the ratchet clicks one notch tighter on gun owners here. The incumbent party is importing your problems and running on a a platform of handgun and AR15 confiscation. When we implemented gun control measures not too far from what you're suggesting we were told "Trust us and you'll see it'll fix everything." It fixed nothing. Not only did it fix nothing but they keep going back to the same well trying to fix the same problems they were supposed to have addressed 20 some years ago. It's easy for you to propose solutions that don't effect you because you aren't the one being marginalized by society and forced to the edges.
You always have a home in 'Merica man. Believe it or not we even have decent Waterfowl hunting here.

Some of the best in the world. If I could get Mrs Beard to move I'd probably do it. Of course if the federales come for her wheel gun she might want to leave too.

Pretty much all our news shows is orange man bad while deflecting from the liberal scandals and running defense for trudeau. The canadian media loves anything negative about the USA .they love to stick their smug noses in the air and act like we are so much better than them. The CBC is disgusting abd CTV isnt much better. They want a hand gun ban when hand guns are controlled about as tightly as it can get already.there were 11 shooting in toronto over the weekend anyways.criminals dont play by the same rules.gun laws only work on law abiding citizens. Canada is still demonizing the mini 14 iver the ecole polytechnique shooting 30 years ago

You used to be able to own cannons and mount them on your private ship because that’s what the government had... I want to get back to that. Let me patrol the bayous in an LCS.

They don't prosecute people lying on the forms. They just deny you and send you on your way. That really pisses me off.
It literally says on the form that it’s punishable under federal law and yet tens of thousands of people still do it every year and get away with it. I bring this up often on these discussions... NICS, as a system, is exactly what people rant about with “extensive background checks”. It should be all a seller needs. We need law enforcement agencies and firearms dealers to use it correctly. Proper reporting and proper punishment.

Curious people’s opinion.
If Trump decided tomorrow to sign executive orders to essentially ban gun sales. Would the Democrats support him and let him have that “win”?

If he can balance something that doesn’t piss off his base but has some kind of legit legislation. I don’t see how he doesn’t ride that to a landslide victory.

He can't do that, and I don't want to live in a nation where the POTUS can supersede the natural rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights.
That would literally spark an armed revolution.

I don't think you're going to find a balance on this issue that doesn't alienate more Representatives and Senators than it attracts.

I agree with everything you posted.
But
Would Democrat’s support him? Or suddenly be against gun restrictions

I would also like to point out that we're debating allowing the gov't to disarm citizens on a whim in order to prevent something that kills about as many people every year as lightning strikes.

Let's keep this in perspective.

Not sure if aimed at me but if so you’re preaching to the choir.

My point is more I’d say is if Trump agreed to push legislation on a 4 year “assault rifle” ban( only new sales). Would Democrat’s actually support him? And yes I know the stats don’t show it makes a difference.

if trump signed that law he would betray his conservative base and somehow become a liberal hero. I personally have never liked trump because as a new yorker and a former democrat that he was I don't think he knows how to shoot a gun or do manual labor.

Trump will never be a liberal hero. Even if he undid everything he's done, they have too much invested in "Trump=Conservative=Evil" to walk it back. He's not moving his base on the firearms issue. Moving a little left on that is going to get him annihilated by reducing the right-wing turnout.

If people want a member of the administration they need to watch it's this guy:
