I like the Ordinary World cover but I am pretty sure I heard that recently actually lettin youtube go on autoplay, I think it might be a tie between the 2 Come Undone covers, both sound really good in their own way to me

Dave's Song of the Day

Falling in Love Again – Marlene Dietrich

Monday song of the day: Today’s song was sung by a German actress in her first starring role and became her signature song.

The age of “talkie” films had just begun, and in late 1929 Josef von Sternberg was getting ready to direct the first full-length talkie in German cinema. He was still undecided on an actress for the lead female role – a nightclub singer – when an unknown actress came in looking for a small part in the film. He quickly decided that she was right for the lead role.

The film was The Blue Angel, and the actress was Marlene Dietrich. The Blue Angel was the story of a stuffy professor and his tragic obsession with a nightclub singer. It was filmed in two versions at the same time, in German as Der blaue Engel, and English as The Blue Angel. Most critics agree that the German version is better since it is longer, has a more complete and nuanced script, and has better performances from the cast as they did not need to struggle to act in a language that was foreign to them.

A key song in the film was the Freidrich Hollaender composition Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt (literally translated to “I am from head to toe ready for love”). That did not really work well in English, so Sammy Lerner did a looser translation that became Falling in Love Again (Can’t Help It). The parenthetical part of the title is often deleted. Dietrich sings Falling in Love Again twice in the film. The first is lighter and more flirtatious, and the second performance late in the film is much colder, with a cruel edge.

The German version of the film was released in 1930, and the English version was released in the United States in 1931. It proved to be a major hit and established Marlene Dietrich as a star. The song would be associated with her for the rest of her long career. She recorded it several times, and regularly performed it in her stage act. In the 1974 film Blazing Saddles, Madeline Kahn parodied Dietrich’s performance in The Blue Angel with the character Lili von Shtupp singing I’m Tired.

Since 1930, Falling in Love Again has been covered over 100 times, by artists including Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Doris Day, Linda Ronstadt, and Marianne Faithfull. In 1962, a popular English band playing at the Star Club in Hamburg often performed the song, and one poor quality recording of such a performance was released in 1977, long after the band, known as The Beatles, became a worldwide sensation.

cover of a turbonegro song..they were as gay as judas priest but their lyrics were funny. and therapy? cove red the shit out of it no t giving a shit

I tried to be part of the scene
Bought all the records and magazines
But all the kids they put me down
Laughed and said I was a clown
Said they didn't want me around
Made me feel so all alone

But now I'm back with a bang
I've got my own leather gang
And all of them are men
And denim's back again

And I am, and I am
A Denim Demon
Got my own congregation
I am a saint for seamen
And I am, and I am
A Denim Demon
You've got my penis streaming
And your asshole's screaming "Help!"

The day is black, the night is white
The disco sun it shines so bright
Protruding buttocks left and right
I draw my sword, prepared for a fight
The stench of piss reveals your fright
Your asshole's in for a ride
Outside of society
Good head, good head
