What's the lamest reason a patient has come to see you guys during all this? You still have people booking appointments for wart removal and shit? You have to tell anyone to fuck off because they aren't important right now?
I have canceled everyone over the age of 65 that doesn't need to be here for the next month.
They are all being given the option to telemedicine or schedule 2 months out. The removal of telemedicine restrictions is a godsend for patient care.
All resp and fevers are triaged and swabbed in their car and managed outside in PPE.
The rest are still being seen. I see obstetric patients, children, adults. They still need to be seen.
UTIs happen, a dog bite happened this morning, people cut themselves and need repair, they get pneumonias, cellulitis happens.
I have a ton of chronic care adults. That's congestive heart failure, asthma, copd, etc etc etc.
If I shut down or kick too many out then I offload them onto the ED who 1> will not know their history and thus have a harder time taking care of them in that setting 2> is not designed for this 3> will be overloaded in no time with all their increased coronas AND corona panic, plus my patients.
