It now stands at 1177 dead in the US from covid. We are being mowed down out here. . Wanted to make this thread for later on when we are eating each other to survive and the death count is upwards of 4,000

thank god you made a thread making fun of this virus. Its ridiculous what it is doing with people over the whole planet. Splinty takes it seriously because he is a doctor and the most popular thread is about this virus but the rest of us normal humans can only laugh at this. Just to be clear if I wanted to laugh about it in public I would have to have my fucking face covered with a mask because our fucking government forces us to cover our faces when we go outside and it doesnt even provide us with this shit! Fuck them. edited

By limiting the OP focus to the USA, The OP is hedging his bet. If we all do work on his behalf and prevent a tragedy he gets to tell us we are idiots for our success in flattening the curve.
The OP is actually banking on our success.


There's a reason he didn't look at global rates and growth.

There's a reason there will be moving goal posts later.

On the other hand the OP put his balls on the line so I'll do the same.

100,000+ dead in the US in the next 18 months.

I'll wait the cavalier attitude that this is only three flu seasons. Ignoring that we are currently preventing 60 of them.

Hey, Doc, remember when I told you that joke about how we are about to enter flu season here? I forgot to add the punchline that my state's ICU capacity is 1/5th of the US' and half of Italy's.

That's gonna suck a lot. It's my fear here still. it'll be interesting to see how we come out the lockdown. So much arguing about different models on taper and length of time. Regardless some proportion of this may still run its course during our flu season in the fall here

If anyone out there is still reading my words......the USA death toll has hit 1300. Is anyone left in this desolate hellscape? It's been hours since I've seen another human. Im.starting to forget how to talk I need to practice words as I clutch a battered pic of my family and wade thru the bodies trying to find a morsel of food
