new york and new jersey are blowing the whole country away as far as cases and deaths. no other state is close. so i wouldnt expect this to spread like that across the country. doesnt seem to be happening

5 states have 2/3 of the deaths
United States Coronavirus: 241,668 Cases and 5,827 Deaths - Worldometer
you need to be old and have bad immune system to die
Coronavirus Age, Sex, Demographics (COVID-19) - Worldometer

also are we taking china at their word? they have leveled off for awhile now
China Coronavirus: 81,589 Cases and 3,318 Deaths - Worldometer

spain has leveled off on their chart as far as new cases and deaths
Spain Coronavirus: 112,065 Cases and 10,348 Deaths - Worldometer

  • Projections: 100,000 - 240,000 total deaths in the US from COVID-19 [video segment] (down from 1.5 - 2.2 million deaths without mitigation: social distancing, staying home, washing hands). But if guidelines are followed perfectly by everyone, then the numbers can be lower, or even significantly lower
  • Assuming full mitigation: peak of 2,214 daily deaths on April 15
United States Coronavirus: 241,658 Cases and 5,827 Deaths - Worldometer

im gona look more later but for now im agreeing with these numbers. dont think we are going over 500k usa or getting close to it

Can I ask you to give this statement some context?
i think that Too swole to control @Too swole to control is putting the age distribution up to deflect, now that the death count is getting really high.
like it's only affecting people who were going to die in a year or two anyway.

but one of the things driving that high mortality in the very old is the fact that nations are having to remove the elderly from care because younger people need serious/critical care.

We've had 2 deaths here, both elderly, neither because of being removed from respirators. I'm not saying that isn't a thing that's happened, but we've got 100 cases and 2 deaths.

IMO, a life is a life.

saying that we only threw old people off the boat to keep it from sinking isn't relevant.
people are getting thrown off the boat.

You are ignoring most of what I posted to focus on one thing. Most of the cases and deaths are in a few states. Older ppl may get pulled off the ventilators in some areas. (If you could post a link to how often that happens if appreciate it) And you weren't saying "a life is a life " last page when IJ mentioned ppl dying from unemployment. Was that you? I think it was, not positive. Sorry if not

So you think the ventilator situation is going to cause the projections to be vastly off? Or you just wanted to bring that up

no, but I think that we'll have a significant under-count in the official count.

regarding the unemployment thing, I was asking how Rambo John J @Inside Job was going to account for those deaths. Are we comparing documented deaths to estimated deaths? If so, that's not a meaningful comparison of the magnitude of impact.

Are your "pulled off the ventilator" deaths going to be documented or estimated? Because it seems very similar . Also do you have a link that this has happened or will happen ever?

The events you stated cover multiple generations. You're going to pretty hard pressed to find someone who's been through them all.
i knew throwing WWI on the list was a stretch, but i really don't give a shit about the opinion of someone who doesn't even know the tax status of Mario Tabraue's private zoo.

those will probably make the official count, if they were already diagnosed. But just like France recognizing that they had 884 deaths over the previous few weeks. I think we'll see a lot of that 'after the fact' official counting in the next few weeks.

I'm assuming that if you get around to putting your dick on the table and letting everyone laugh at it, the number will be in confirmed deaths.

So you are guessing that will happen. Got it
