Jimmy Kimmel just did a skit about thanking a pizza delivery guy by gifting him a pizza. In true Jimmy Kimmel fashion, no laughs were had.
You and I normally dig humour wise. Kimmell wasn't any good? I really like that guy. I fell asleep, I'll watch on XFinity

he wouldnt be smoking while pregnant. Its all about family for him
When I was a kid, I'd say 'mother, why are there like 10 professional car thieves here for Christmas? Aren't they all wanted for dozens of murders?' And she would say 'they are family, son'. Then, I'd say 'but I'm pretty sure you've only known most of them for a week, and didn't you kill that guy's brother and then he killed one of the other car thieves that you called family in return. None of this makes any sense'. Then they would all laugh, and for some reason demand that I pay them $15 for a ticket stub, a bag of popcorn and some 3D glasses. I guess I was just too young to understand what family really meant back then.

I'd then hear them all arguing who gets to take the 'next ride' with my mother, but oddly I would never hear a car start. I do remember one of them saying 'this bitch loves it when I go down the dirt track', so I guess my mother liked to go off-roading and that was nice of him to do something that she enjoys. Looking back, they were the only family I ever really knew.

Update from my neck of the woods:
-friend, 36, got it, is recovering but still has trouble breathing and believes he has permanent lung damage (got it from coworker in dental office)

-mom's friend/coworker who lives just a few minutes away from me (I think late 40s/early 50s) got it, was in the hospital a couple weeks, died Wednesday night. (NYC school teacher, leaves parents, husband, teen kids). Another teacher from the same school got it but recovered.

-my son's school psychologist (late 40s/early 50s I think), got it, recovered last I heard, was working but has since disappeared so don't know if she's sick again or what

-my son's teacher's nephew got it and recovered I think, but her cousin also got it and passed away (male, 53), leaves wife and kids

-my cousin's great aunt on her other side passed from it - the only older person I personally know of

-my cousin on a different side and his wife got it (she's a nurse), recovering but idk know how they're feeling

-hearing from a firefighter friend who's friends with a bunch of nurses and hospital workers that they come home crying every night because so many people they're trying to help are dead the next day. One specific story was mom + dad both passed and left behind an infant that an aunt is now trying to gain custody of so they're sorting that out

-good news, a friend of mine gave birth a couple days ago, pretty easy/quick delivery (lucky duck), discharged after 24 hrs, home safe. It will be a few weeks until they know if they were exposed in the hospital, but for now they're healthy. Report was entering the hospital was chaotic because everything has been moved around and it took several minutes to figure out where to go, but that was the worst of it I think

-so far my family is fortunate that we all still have our jobs, 3/4 of the adults in my house are working from home, and we have been able to get everything including fresh groceries delivered (extra tip now for that guy). We give to the food pantry every week (the grocery place lets us add donations to our order), and I order groceries for my in-laws and aunts and uncles as well now. I have offered for my neighbors, but they've said they're all doing fine on their own.

I think I am very lucky to be allowed by the nature of my job to take this very seriously and pretty much stay home. They've started cutting the grass in the neighborhood, so my sinuses and lungs are already full of crap every day even with allergy meds. I'm pretty scared of getting it actually.

I'm also lucky that I am on this place with all of you - it's one of the reasons I have plenty of tp and shelf stable foods. I'm in a much better position than a lot of people around me, and it's made me able to help everyone else- my relatives and neighbors know I have if they need, and I have already given away some tp and paper towels. I feel like me being a little safer and more prepared has made a lot of people a little safer, so that's a big positive for me. I only wish there was more I could do.

Good to hear from you. Your area was definitely hit harder than most. I really feel for those in the medical field in those areas.

I'm fortunate that nobody I know has been diagnosed, although a few got sick, quarantined and have since recovered. Who knows if they had it or not.

Stay safe.

my point is do your really believe their reported numbers?

they either lied early or are lying now...not sure it makes sense scientifically that they have been giving accurate numbers the entire time.
I think their numbers are double. So there.

I forgot one - there was another older adult I know of who died -- the father of one of the adult students at the martial arts studio. Yeah, this area is rough. It's definitely a real thing, and even healthy people should be nervous about getting it because I hear it's scary and miserable to go through if you get the lung/breathing problems. I am trying to do lung exercises every day just in case, and since I have a young one I already have several packs of the vapopads for the humidifier in the house, but I recommend everyone make sure (if you can) that you have stuff like that on hand to make you more comfortable just in case. Even just eucalyptus or peppermint oil in some steaming water might help -- I'm not really sure though. I don't hear a lot of "this is what helped me the most" stories.

Isolation is starting to get to Sex Chicken @Sex Chicken

As of this writing, the Covid-19 outbreak has killed tens of thousands and wreaked havoc on economies all over the world. In this time of global anxiety, only one thing is for certain: the second my local Boston Pizza opens up again, I’m gonna march down there and fucking tune the manager, Dave.

If Dave thinks I’m going to forget what he did to me, he’s got another thing coming. Coronavirus may only have a 3% fatality rate, but these fists are a solid 50/50, bud. After we flatten the curve, I’m gonna flatten his smug fuckin face. Just wait and see.

I see people on the news saying this is a time for people to support each other, but that straight up doesn’t apply to Dave. I mean, picture this! March 18, 2020: Me and my boys are about six deep at BP. I’m making eyes with a lady from out of town, no ring on her finger, dressed up all business-like. I’m fixing on helping this travelling saleswoman meet her quota, if you know what I mean. So I go to the bar to order a Fish Bowl for the lady, when Dave steps out of the back like he’s friggin Vince McMahon or something.

Like I said, I was only six deep, but Dave starts giving me the third degree, asking how many I’ve had and how drunk I am, like he’s my son or something. Like anybody would, I tell him to get fucked, and that’s when he starts power tripping. Not only does he cut me off, but he takes my fucking keys! He humiliated me in front of everybody: The business lady, the nice waitress with the weird bangs, and all my boys, (including Cory R, who barely ever comes out anymore!).

And I fucking know it was personal, too. He’s had it out for me ever since I got an HJ from his prom date at Safe Grad.

Anyways, next night I head back to Bossy Piz, cause me and Dave gotta have words, right? Turns out, the whole fucking thing is closed down, except for takeout. Dave’s the bar manager, so he’s nowhere to be found. I figure this must be some kind of scheme to protect Dave’s weak ass, but the lady at the door very patiently explained coronavirus to me. So, I take home a 12 inch Spicy Perogy pizza and a two litre of Pepsi to start my months of self isolation/planning revenge.

Okay, so he lost his job, big hairy goddamn deal. Sitting at home, living off Trudeau money after fucking up my last chance to get some tang before a global friggin quarantine? That’s too good for Dave! I’ve been Facetiming with my boys and they pretty much agree (The sole holdout being Cory R.)

Dave may forget what happened that fateful night, but I sure as shit never will. I don’t have too many hobbies, so I’ve got nothing to do but stew in this rage! While he’s been watching Tiger King, I’ve been watching Youtube karate tutorials. While he’s been cutting his own hair, I’ve been cranking pushups in a dark room, lit only by the blue glow of my disconnected TV. While he’s been learning to make bread, I’ve been building my immunity to pain by holding my fists over the hot stove. I’ve been doing some jigsaw puzzles too, I’m not crazy or anything!

Thought I seen him in the grocery store parking lot the other day, but it turned out to be someone else. Son of a bitch was lucky I figured it out when I did, buddy almost got domed by a can of Campbell’s Chunky Split Pea With Ham. Even from six feet away, I can still inflict some serious damage. Since that day, I’ve been carrying that can around every time I go shopping, just in case. I also keep it with me when I’m on my walks, which I swear are just for exercise, not for trying to figure out where Dave lives (get off my back about that, Cory R!).

Dave, don’t forget, bud. Even if you wait out this pandemic, you don’t have shit on this mandemic. Once the crisis is over, health risks may go down for everyone else, but they’re gonna get way, way worse for you.

I love the term “tune”. The first time I heard it I was about 12. My 16 year old cousin from Nova Scotia was telling me about a hockey fight he got in. He was like “So I grabbed him eh? I got his shirt over his head and I was just tuning him. Just fucking tuning him with uppercuts”. I thought it was hilarious and I’ve used it ever since. To this day when two of my friends get in a light hearted argument, I yell “Fucking tune him!!!”
