It has tubers. Shoots up in early spring and flowers like the picture. Then completely disappears underground by summer. Spreads quickly.

If it stayed green for the summer i'd consider keeping it and trying to control. But given what I've found out, it's getting a nice drink of glyphosate today.

It can quickly take over a forest...

And like many invasive species, they bloom early and choke out native plants.

It's also known as "Fig Buttercup" and "Brazen Hussy". For some reason, it's still being sold by some irresponsible nurseries.

Japanese knot weed is a fucker in Ireland, you see it all over the place in Kerry, it has a little white flower that looks alright I suppose but it chokes the fuck out of everything, ruin your house as well.

Horrible shit will spread when you try to cut it down, can grow back from nothing.

Really is a cunt of a weed, japanese bastards.

Stargazing is a hobby of mine. I just haven't got around to photographing them yet.
Same here, I am hoping for some fireballs tomorrow night, supposed to be good viewing with the new moon, not too far a spin for me to get out of the light pollution as well.

Should be a good one.

Found a baby Hickory out in the woods.
Going to transplant him in the backyard. He can take the place of the thorny locust trees I plan to cut down this weekend. Don't worry @conor mcgregor nut hugger - I will post pics. Because there will be blood. 100%.

locust tree good wood?
Yeah. Strong as shit. I will mill it and make something out of them (3 trees). Probably a coffee table or something.

They have nasty ass thorns that are strong enough to puncture a tire. Nothing I want to be mowing around. Plus they are a pretty ugly tree.

So they gotta die.

A bat found his way into my chimney. Pretty exciting. I caught him with a fire poke tool because I'm a bad ass.

Dude was pissed! Look at those teeth!

He died after looking at all your faggy flower photos

Your idea of a "Coffee table"

I use a chainsaw attachment. I will rip to 1-1/2" thick, stick it up and let it dry out for a couple years.

Yeah locust is hard. I will go through a few blades I'm sure.

Not this exact one, but same concept.

I like it because you can process boards in the midde of the woods.

Decent setup.
I have a haddon lumbermaker, it's pretty rudimentary but does the job. I've only ever found a need to use it once.
