I drove into Dallas at 7 am to pick up some shit from work to make my life easier. I have never seen traffic this light, even at 3am. Another interesting observation was traffic in Dallas was thicker than this, but not how it normally is when you have all these people commuting into the city. So what I think it happened, at least in DFW, is people are moving around locally, but not traveling outside of their little bubble close to their house.

Well I have two weeks vacation saved up. Getting them now. Work is give mask out. It seems like it's going to cause more problems and add to the sick. Had 41 yesterday and today it's at 51. Small town. Pretty sure most of those are from work. People complaining about they were working next to people who got confirmed. Stocked up. Bills payed. Bought FF7 remake and going to shutdown. Only wished I had the power of Pineapple just to rate everything I see with it.

I'm going to start routinely posting about my theories to see if I can get you this triggered on a regular basis.

That would match at least part of the Italian generational problem. Instead of the news giving us all a leaderboard of deaths, I wish it were easier to find demographic data on cases/deaths. Trying to ascertain consistent comparisons is tough.
It's not pedantry at all. They are trying to push the agenda that their 'experiment' is relative to predictive models. Social distancing has been more effective at flattening the curve than models predicted almost everywhere too.

There's no control, and it is not replicable. We also already know the formula. Less social distancing = more infections = less immediate economic damage. But maybe more infections = more long-term economic damage. That's the only really experimental part of this and it remains to be seen how that plays out.

To call it an experiment is just flat out dishonest. It's just a policy, some of the effects of which are already known. That's way more misleading than the bastardisation of the word 'theory'.

Harvard University has pushed back against US President Donald Trump after he demanded it pay back nearly $9m (£7.3m) in coronavirus relief aid.

The president said he was unhappy that the ultra-wealthy Ivy League college had received stimulus money.

But the university said the funds would help students facing "urgent financial needs" because of the pandemic.

Harvard is rated the world's wealthiest university with an endowment fund valued at $40bn.

In healthcare, freestanding emergency departments and relevant staffing agencies are getting huge bucks. In the meantime independent physicians are getting shut out the small business loan program. Many of these organizations have huge cash coffers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

The care at those places is garbage. My wife had to go to a Baylor run one that is really close to our neighborhood. It was disappointing to say the least. UTSW on the other hand has been amazing for my wife and mother.

One of Mrs Beard's good friends is doing her residency in an NYC hospital. Turns out she got the Rona. Apparently recovered now, she was off work for 3 days.

As I just put in the Serious Talk thread, I just lost a close family member not because of Covid-19 but because of it only 2 people were allowed in the hospital and now the whole funeral process is completely fucked and my whole family will be unable to mourn like we're all used to being able to...

Well, looks like Georgia is tired of Florida getting all the thinning of the herd immunity:

Georgia Governor Allows Gyms, Salons, and Bowling Alleys to Reopen Friday as Coronavirus Cases Climb

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced on Monday that gyms, hair salons, nail salons, barbershops, and bowling alleys will be allowed to reopen in the state on Friday—even as the number of cases of coronavirus in the state to continue to rise.
