While 19-year-old Sage Northcutt (6-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made a big splash in his UFC debut, fellow UFC lightweight Kevin Lee (11-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) isn’t impressed. In fact, he’d be more than happy to face the “rich, privileged white boy” next and put an end to all the hype.

“If Sage wants to fight, I think Sage shuts down after the first round,” Lee told MMAjunkie Radio. “I think as soon I get in there, hit him a couple of times, he shuts down. I don’t think this kid has ever been through anything.”

“I think a lot of other fighters feel that,” Lee said. “They won’t say sh-t, but I will. We can settle it right now. I hope he’s listening in so he can hear me – he can hear what I’m saying about him. I’m going to call (UFC matchmaker) Joe (Silva) as soon as I get off the phone with you guys. We can do it at 194.

“(UFC) 194, here in Vegas, biggest fight card of the year. He’ll live the shortest career that the UFC has known.”

(Cont'd)...

After dropping his UFC debut to Al Iaquinta, Lee has since built a four-fight octagon winning streak now wants a chance to take on Northcutt and steal some of his shine.

“I just know he’s a rich, privileged white boy, and as soon as he gets in there and gets hit and sees some adversity thrown into his face, I think he’s going to crumble,” Lee said. “I think I’m a better striker than him. I damn sure know I’m a better wrestler than him, so I think I can beat him everywhere.”

Lee feels like he’s just finally starting to get a little of the respect he deserves – though he sees “Super” Sage getting that treatment much faster, and from no less a figure than UFC President Dana White.

“He might get it after two because he’s going to get the Conor McGregor treatment, and Dana is going to ride him around his Ferrari on the Strip,” Lee said.

Anyone who thinks Sage is even a spiky satellite orbiting the Planet Handsome of your man here is delusional.
Me and Kev are gonna have some cute chillren. We're both going to regret the 2 year break up we'll have but I'll still remain friends with Dominick Cruz for healing my heart enough to love again but me and Kev need to be together for our eternal happiness and to give the chillren hope that they'll have a love like ours one day.

I want Dominick to officiate your wedding.

Also I'd pay for this fight.

Kevin makes an interesting point with the "privileged" thing. Not just socioeconomically, but Sage is clearly a tremendous natural athlete born into a family with the resources to nurture and guide his talent from a young age. I do wonder what challenge-- real, hard, mean psychological challenge, lack of reverence-- does to a born golden boy. I'm not sneering at Sage's chances, merely saying that I'm intrigued and want to find out.

I'm all for it. Just as long as we keep our Big Black Booty Backshot Blowout happening on an annual basis. ;)

I get the fact that he's rich and privileged and how you can fault him for not busting his ass for 15+ mma fights before ufc signed him, but why did he have to bring skin color into the mix? "Rich privileged white kid" why not kid "rich privileged kid"?
