I remember speculation in the beginning that the virus may be like herpes, hiv, etc. and can "flare" up later. I hope this isn't true. Stay safe.
Can we change the name from Covid-19 to Chinese Death Flu Lung Herpes?

Not really the greatest news because for those of us who have had it, if it could be resurgent it means we're basically living in Hell forever waiting for the other shoe to drop.

It's really why the lethality is only one part of the story. Living with this thing is a nightmare.
The only person I know who got it said having bronchitis was worse for them

Some people get chickenpox twice too.

Of course, you might want to read the article while you're at it.

It's rare to "get" the chicken pox again. However, the virus stays with you forever and can reactivate and cause shingles.

We don't know what this virus will cause if it reactivates. So this post isn't very reassuring to me if that was your intention.

As far as I'm aware all viruses stay with you forever, that being said if you can't develop immunity to the virus through getting it and recovering that also takes antigens off the table an in turn vaccines but @Splinty can probably correct me on that. If that is in fact the case and we will be fighting it intermittently throughout our lives, we're all dead already and just don't know enough to lie down.

So the idea that someone can occasionally get it a second time and they'll recover from it should be extremely reassuring as the alternative is much more concerning.

"As far as I'm aware all viruses stay with you forever,"

I know how intelligent you are. I'm not even going to entertain this.

"if you can't develop immunity to the virus through getting it and recovering that also takes antigens off the table an in turn vaccines"

Care to explain the shingles vaccine then?

The shingles vaccine only lasts for a certain amount of time (that's why you aren't supposed to get it if you're under 60) and its 51% effective.
