you didn't stratify 'young', but those are also the ones for whom the loss of learning for a few months is least impactful over their lifetime. And they're also the ones for whom the impacts of 'lifetime effects' would be greatest.

School's got closed in March. If we add 6 months to today, that would be a total of 10 months away from their peers. You're also pretending that the educational component is the most impotant part of childhood development which shows how completely out of your depth you are on the subject.

and we should use our best available information to make decisions as they present themselves. Not go on hunches because they're comforting. Particularly as those hunches look increasingly unjustified.
