I think you missed the point. I was pointing out that Bill Gates has no business tell Elon Musk to stay in his lane. They're both very smart guys who I have no doubt can digest information as well as anybody on the planet. For Gates to tell Musk to take a walk because he gives money to virologists is ridiculous.

Do you think Gates would be dismissive of Musk's opinions if he were in whole agreement with Gates's position?
it wouldn't matter, I'm not interested in Musk's opinion because he wasn't preaching about epidemics in TED talks and trying to eradicate polio and malaria from Africa for the past decade. But we have to remember how Musk attained his wealth compared to Gates, and the areas where he's applied that wealth relative to Gates.

Gates was right to tell Musk to stay out of the passing lane until he gets up to speed.

The confirmation bias is real.

Masks don't prevent the wearer from getting covid. They prevent infected people from spreading. That's also not how karma works.

Explain yourself, woman!
One super genius agrees with your positions the other doesn't. The one who doesn't you discredit because it isnt historically his field as if covid hasn't become everyone's central focus in the last 6 months. The other super genius you support with examples that have nothing to do with covid.

‘Elon’s positioning is to maintain a high level of outrageous comments, He’s not much involved in vaccines. He makes a great electric car. And his rockets work well. So he’s allowed to say these things. I hope that he doesn’t confuse areas he’s not involved in too much.’

Bill is right. Elon has not been involved in vaccines and he has an incentive to be 'in the press' as an edgy tech genius. But he's really a guy who started with a lot of money and landed in Silicon Valley at the start of the boom, when money was flying around like candy out of a pinata. Bill has been heavily involved in vaccines for a long time, and has shown an altruistic streak when it comes to vaccines. He's also well-regarded by many experts...that's not the case for Musk. It could be that Gates is an evil genius who bought some scientists and yada yada...but that gets sliced up by Occam's Razor.

I'm considering the source, I'm not confirming my own bias.

You're doing it again. Instead of acknowledging that Musk is a smart guy amd his observations could very well have merit (seeing as he's been supplying medical equipment throughout covid) you immediately go to Gates past and then some bizarre conspiracy theory no one brought up. Mind you, if you wanted to go that path Occam's razor would dictate Gates is well regarded by experts because he lines their pockets.

that's what it means to consider a source, i'm dismissing Musk because of the incentives he has, and because he has no history of being altruistic or insightful to offset the wrong and outright stupid things he's said about COVID...not because he isn't a virologist.

"There are a lot of C19 false positives messing up the numbers. Even tests with 5% false positive rate (in *field,* not lab) would show up as ~17 million fake C19 cases even if there were actually none."

"Kids are essentially immune, but elderly with existing conditions are vulnerable. Family gatherings with close contact between kids & grandparents probably most risky."

Seriously. STFU and stay in your lane.

..... Do you know why they first start the testing process on healthy individuals after animal trials, if applicable?
Well if 80% of healthy individuals are having reactions then how will the elderly/weak react?

FYI They skipped the animal trials for a portion of em...and some of the animals reacted very poorly in the ones they didn't skip.

Personally if there are adverse effects in 80% then I wouldn't want any of my older loved ones or immune compromised being anywhere near the front of the line for it...but that is who needs to be protected so that is likely what will happen...I think many would have similar concerns...If kids aren't dying then why put something like that in their developing bodies?(sleep on that question brother), especially if it will take 3-4 vaccines a year to stay "immune".

Rushed Rollout is a recipe for problems.

99+% survive yet some states will be requiring vaccines for all to be part of "normal society"...scary stuff my man.

I suggest we don't destroy or alter our immune system any more than we already have...that is my stance and gut instinct.

This is exactly why they do testing on healthy people first...... So you understand why the start with healthy people but yet you think it's a problem? You protect the elderly and immunocompromised by having healthy people get vaccinated.... That's a big reason why we do it.....

I understand a lot. There is nothing normal or standard about the leading candidates for this Vaccine.
Not really interested in debating this...lots of corners are admittedly being cut and that is my problem.

If they test a group of weak people with the "strong dose" and they give them the 3-4 doses a year without any issues, then we can continue the discussion on the weak and elderly.

Honest questions..
How did you like Bill Gates reaction to the question?
Did you ever watch that video I suggested 3 months back?

I like to speak to people that have a similar level of knowledge to get too deep into these types of topic...Not gonna try to inform the willfully uninformed(that may or may not be you), I respect their choice to avoid educating themselves on history and facts but I cannot engage with anyone like that.

Have a nice day dude.

You don't seem to have a lot of knowledge on it though, you're upset about a vaccines going through trials......

Ok...Your wrong.
I am not upset at all...I posted a video which you reacted to without addressing the video(has happened before).

Back to square one where you pretend you know what I do and don't know...I support trials, and science...I do not support fast tracked vaccines without diligent testing, trials, and science...Nothing is normal about this, maybe you don't get that part of it.

No point in engaging further.

Let me know when you actually learn about this specific vaccine and get educated on gates past and present.

I am fine discussing on an even playing field...but if you insist upon telling people what they do and don't know and put words or emotions on their posts.

How much have you actually looked into the vaccines and how similar or different they are from previous vaccines? Or have you?

Fact is if it isn't tested on the elderly and weak then who the hell is it protecting...you cannot eliminate a virus outright that needs booster shots every few months(booster shots alone should have you wondering how effective it is and if it is worth the adverse reactions).

My wife works in biomedical research, she obviously knows more than I, we have discussed this in detail. The vaccine is going through trials, that doesn't mean this will be THE vaccine. Yes, there are special circumstances where animal trials were bypassed, which isn't all that abnormal, and they are starting human trials on healthy people, just how any human trials start.

You seem to be coming at this with a tin foil hat on and a poor understanding of how scientific trials progress.

Ok man, I respect your wife and your opinion

I suggest you may be missing some key parts of the equation that have nothing to do with tinfoil

Let me know when you watch all of the Corbett video
