That’s sounds quite manageable indeed. Another import factor is that I’m currently in a townhouse. We just sold and are out in two weeks but are renting a nice vacation property lake front until we know where we want to buy. Anticipating housing market to crash/dip so we’re being patient so we can get something with some room for boats and RVs. I drive an F250 super duty now. Not ideal for brush whacking but I love the truck for lots of other reasons.
The best people to watch at boat launches are the inexperienced bicker couple. I swear a divorce lawyer could pick up so much work at those spots.
Man, I donno what your laws are but just back the trailer into the lake at any point you choose, I have launched a boat in a flooded ditch before lol, boat ramps are optional.
We are currently renting a covered spot for our boat, it's not ideal but I don't have to leave the neighborhood to get it. If you are getting lake front property just tie it off on the shore when you arent using it, hell you could even pull it up out of the water if you wanted.
Man the funniest boat ramp story I have recently is a dude who had no motor on his big fiberglass boat except for a little trolling motor on the front. You could tell he was frustrated and just wanted to fish. He wasn't strong enough to winch the boat all the way up on the trailer so he was just punching the gas and slamming on his brakes lol The boat would slide forward, then bounce back off hahaha
Another time we watched a guy try to launch his boat when the water was real low, he got into the mud and got stuck for a bit, and his truck was 2wd. My wife pulled our boat out in her nissan rogue that she had at the time, you could tell the guy was pisssssssssssssed.
One thing to keep in mind is an aluminum boat will be much less maintenance intense and also lighter, 2 things that will benefit you.
