They locked down and started government tracking apps for contact tracing which around 25% of the country is using.
All they did was intervene fast and early with all the stuff everyone said we should, used their lockdown to spin up testing/tracing and got back to it with a cohesive plan.
Do you have a source on the ground there?
Maybe Giant Switzerland will be better anyways.

The usa focused on masks is admission of the incredible amount of idiocy that continues to go on rapidly spreading cases at such a rate with such limited testing supplies and contact tracing as to require a sloppy shotgun approach assuming we are all sick..

My state is shut down and restricted heavily but not overwhelmed with anything this entire year(except for TDS sadly)

Resource allocation and system overruns still matter.
Peaking doesn't tell the whole story.
Slows spread, allows rapid allocation of resources, allows surgical responses instead of sloppy shotgun approaches. Lessens intervention harm on others.
Treatments and vaccines represents a drop off in rate of spread and lethality. As those improve the need to do the rest lessens. In the meantime, the virus is still a very serious public health threat that could be ameliorated with better, more testing and cohesive direction.
Regardless it'll fall into the background noise of all other coronaviruses in two generations I'm sure.

I don't think Trumps coronavirus strategy appeals to women and the suburbs. Moms and wives and increased proportion of college educated women. I think his Law and Order message might work okay, but as coronavirus grows, he catches it himself, and his weak debate performance, there's a huge uphill battle going into the election for him.
Memories are short, but it'd take some serious issue to recalibrate this focus.

I actually agree. I think I saw some tilting of the scale when too many cities were burning. But overwhelmingly people like my wife and others found George Floyd specifically to be a pivotal moment in disgust at The current state of policing
Yea, it was actually pretty mind blowing to me to hear some of these women say these things. Mid 20's, mom, good job in cancer research, and no longer trusts police. Fucking crazy.
It's no longer the edge lords or criminals who don't like the police, it's average, everyday people.

This isnt actually how I like to argue and my point is that is the obvious response to disregarding women at large shifting opinions.

Seeing a grown man cry for his mother as a cop murdered him on video had a big impact.
We can all talk about how Floyd was on drugs or was a bad guy... But a mother still loves their child. So that one definitely got the attention of some women who had otherwise tuned out.
