Kiss my grits dude in the post above you insinuated that I said this is fake which I never have. I've just stated all along that I think it's been overblown...
> 400k deaths and it's overblown? or tell us what you think the 'real' mortality of this pandemic might be.

just like when they put fm receivers in fillings.

get a life
U that drunk already Jimmy?

I spoke of lipid nanoparticles not of FM receivers
Have never heard of such a thing

"The lipid nanoparticles are essentially “delivery vehicles” that protect the mRNA when the vaccine is injected and transport it to the right place in cells (here)."

i'm not judging, just think it's a good thought exercise.

how many people we figure are in the 'vulnerable sector'? or maybe what constitutes being in the vulnerable sector and we can make an estimate.
well we can extrapolate.

using government guidelines. Anyone over 65, anyone with a illness that may cause death, anyone obese etc.

protect them. Be more focused. Surely it’s not beyond our limits to laser target them?

so anyone with the 'Top 5' co-morbidities or over the age of 65...how many people you reckon that is in the US?

EDIT - according to the US Census, there are > 40M Americans over the age of 65...we sheltering all of them in place?

Folks like me? If that makes it easier for you to toss unwarranted insults go ahead, but that is a fairly ignorant way to go thru life.

If only the public officials could have had some way to know there might be a second wave coming. I mean even if it just went pretty bad but we were like a year into it, I'm sure we'd have some sort of plan beyond "Durr stay home save lives.".

I don't have a huge problem with people having the option. I sadly know a lot of people who have shut themselves off from their families for the last 9 months. If they die tomorrow it will be full of regrets.
Its a terribly sad situation.

I think folks should have the choice. And the support.

Either way.

my cousin is a doctor, just posted a pic getting her vaccination.
My wife's friend is a doctor in Brooklyn and got hers yesterday. I actually meant to ask @Splinty if it wouldn't make more send to kick those who have gotten it and recovered to the end of the line?

Shut themselves totally off? Or just no physical visits?

My mom had 10 brothers and sisters. A few spread out across the country and one to another country for a few years. Some we only saw at Christmas, some only every 4-5 years. I don't remember anyone complaining of any regrets.

A friend of the family, since as far back as I can remember, is an older woman with only 2 sisters left. They are all very active and healthy. They decided to have a private Thanksgiving breakfast. Unbeknownst to them, one had caught corona from her granddaughter. They all three got it. Two went to ICU with covid. One didn't make it. The one that caught it first survived. She is devasted with guilt. I'd think she would take regret from not getting to see them over that any day.

I don’t think I’ll be taking the vaccine and I certainly won’t allow my daughter to take it.

The way I see it, this vaccine is still absolutely in a trial phase.

Not gonna take it either, trusting my naturally grown immune system for the time being.

So what happened here exactly, they all followed the rules and they still got it anyways? It seems like there's a lot of context missing from this story.

As it pertains to shutting yourself off completely or no physical visits in a lot of cases there's no practical difference.

I had it and survived, and I’m a 49 yr old out of shape fat ass. I guess there’s always the risk of something going bad, but I’m just not sure it’s necessary to take a rushed unproven vaccine for something with a 99.8% survival rate.

No context missing. You get the overall point without arguing the details.

You said that you knew people shutting themselves off. I was asking what you meant by that. Physically or completely?

Both, although as I pointed out in a practical sense there's no difference.

and the overall point is lost without knowing details. Context informs whether risk is or isn't warranted.
