we are supposed to have 300mb/s internet but no matter which speed test I use it shows max 150mb/s. But sometimes when I am downloading something, legally of coz, the speed is around 220mb/s which is acceptable. Are the speed tests not that reliable, or is the internet provider fucking with us and we pay for more than they give us?

Could be your modem, could be the servers you are connecting to for the speed test, could be your home network. Wifi or hard line?
thank you. I heard if you use wifi the internet might be slower than it is supposed to be. I have cable straight from the router/modem to pc. I have used Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test and www.dsl.cz to check the speed

I am not concerned about the speed of downloading. Ever since I have had internet it was 10 mb/s but they at least told me that it was going to be that. Then a couple of years ago they upped it up to 30 mb/s and a couple of months ago they slowed it back to 10 mb/s and I was not used to that anymore. So I have changed internet provider, they told me I would have 300mb/s. But even on the site that tod gave me it shows 160mb/s. Its just a matter of principle. They said that they would check it if I paid them 40 euros for it. I have no clue if they are doing it for the sole purpose to extract more money from me, pretend like they have fixed the issue but in reality they just tell the provider that I paid so they can give me what I am paying for and supposed to have in the first place

you mean all those numbers and god knows what else that are on the bottom of the router? I wouldnt even know which of those things would be the correct thing that you need in order to help me. Either way, I cant get that easy to it because it has to be hidden from our cat. Its ok, I really appreciate your help. I will take a photo proof of the speed and go to their branch once I know they are open, because its probably still closed due to the virus
