Just remembered this is the year for the Cicada 17.

Last 17 yr there were so many cicadas that cars were having accidents because they were sliding on the bug guts like ice.
I picked a hell of a year to move out to the middle of nowhere.

Try crouching/kneeling and avoiding direct eye contact if you wanna get closer next time. They're easily intimidated.
Dead leaves on ground make stealth mode impossible.

Here in the "south", maybe in the end of this month. I love winter, but i'm starting to be over with this one, haha!
I here ya. Not sure how we’d line up but I’m in the sixth of BC and this week it’s really warmed up. Ski hills still have tons of snow but into town it’s all gone and local lakes are icing off quickly. Cant wait to fish.
