I don't know about since 2008, but it's pretty accepted that Wall Street will definitely have a pull back, but I don't know how that would help the "common man" - not sure what that really means anyway. Most working folk have exposure to the market- even if it is just their 401k.
And I don't know that people who have 2 homes would be forced to do anything. They could always just rent their other place(s) out if they are OK with non-yacht-having folks crashing at their other place.
Maybe it varies by location, but most fast food joints around here are $15. They aren't full time gigs and you can't support a family with that job - but it isn't $8.
