The protest were because the left news pushed the fake narrative that brown had his hands up and a cop murdered him. They knew the reality was that he charged the cop and was shot.
I can't understand that. What would they have to gain? You think every news outlet got together and said this is the plan?

The story is the media reported on what was claimed by an eyewitness and repeated by activists at the time. A year later, the DOJ investigated and found Brown's hands likely weren't up. Most major media outlets also extensively reported on this, though conservative media reported on it with much more vigour.
