I'm heading back up to the hospital now. I was there until 1am. One of my patients that was on the mend there is now doing poorly. Barely holding it together on BiPAP.

I heard more frustration from doctors seeing their settings moved away from what they were targeting.

In defense, the differences in what doctors are doing with tidal volume and PEEP in covid patients on bipap or the vent is confusing to some as they were often changing, chasing the numbers (vitals, labs).

High tidal volume, low PEEP. No! Now we are going low tidal volume, high PEEP.

Like this, I have to read it slow when it gets to type L and type H patients, etc.

How about this then… since you were the only one lucky enough to know everything about everything and whose opinions are all 100% indisputable fact, why not take mercy on the rest of humankind and have a little empathy and patience?
