I'd always considered Afghanistan & part of Pakistan the middle east eastern east part.
That's exactly how I've said it too.
If enroute to Afghanistan by way Munich, and another hot chick asks me where I'm headed, and I say Afghanistan, and she says "where's that?", I always say "the middle east eastern east part".
