Trump would have done zero proactively that someone else didn't do for him.
He is the one that negotiated pushed peace accord without the Afghan government present on multiple occasions.
His previous moves in Syria show a willingness to pull out consequences of the immediate be damned.
He was openly and actively against refugees from Syria so there's no reason to believe he would have had a major humanitarian solution for the Afghans.
He set a public date for total withdrawal.
The only thing Trump might have done is with the Pentagon wanting the 2500 troops he might have capitulated where Biden apparently did not, but I think that's generous when we saw similar recommendations with Turkey, Syria, and the Kurds. And Trump overruled them to pull out. And a core part of Trumps presidency was championing ending Afghanistan as a political piece.
Trump wants to pull all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by 2020 election
Unlike the poorly coordinated executive under Trump, Biden really has no excuse for the Americans on the ground there or those translators et al that worked with out troops. He can't blame lack of experience and nobody else in the white house or the state department can do the same. That was an easy an obvious solve.
The rest, the Afghans at large, etc. is what it looks like when we agreed Feb 2020 to pull out and essentially cede control to the winner of an Afghan Government vs Taliban civil war. That was what we planned and knew was coming. The only way to stop it is to not leave.
