I see you conveniently left out in uniform.

Also some dude beating an officer illegally and bragging like it's cool isn't anything that has to do with this conversation.
pretty sure he was in his uniform when he beat that dumb officer with the etool

yes. it's about calling out your leadership when they do dumb shit to put troops in harms way. we had a retarded SSGt in 04 Iraq, our platoon called him out and dude was relieved of his position and got his rifle taken away. It was because he was trying to instigate a friendly fire incident. when they do dumb shit, you call them out

Did his subordinates "call him out" in uniform on an internet video?

Because if not you seem to not understand where your free speech ends and UCMJ begins.

I think your analogies and anecdotes are not accurate to the situation.

Take your uniform off if you want to comment on politics. Step carefully on the difference between criticizing actions and leaders themselves.
Or gtfo of the military and do whatever the hell you want. But it's service is voluntary and there's rules to it.

he started his video with saying this is probably going to cost his career so i'm sure he's very aware of that and you're not wrong if it's coming straight from by the book officer perspective.

but if you're looking at from an enlisted perspective, the dude is a hero, every enlisted personnel supports this guy. He's an officer who is most respected in the infantry, someone who's not scared to speak his mind to the higher ups. Show me if you can find one enlisted Marine that thinks otherwise.

Sad thing about this is that it'll be only him who's going to take a loss, a big one, and no penalty for the ones who he's confronting, the ones who are really at fault.
Anyway you look at it, he's a courageous guy to step up and sacrifice his pension, only to get some accountability for the dead service member, something you or I can never do and i don't think it's fair to just label him as some nut job who has mental health issues.

Meme could have been better. Makes the Kurds look like stereotypical terrorists and it could have showed a female YPG fighter to emphasize the ridiculousness of the 'we need to stay in Afghanistan to protect women' narrative too.
did you just assume that Kurdish cartoon's gender?

that's not the point.

respect from everyone under the rank of that Lt.Col, all the higher ups are the ones hating
i think most people, especially enlisted, see him as a transparent attention-whore who thought he could make himself a poster boy because he had a couple years left on a dead end career.

even enlisted Marines aren't that easily duped. They know that he's trying to sign them and their kids up for rotations in Afghanistan.
