He's not in that park. It's too inhospitable at this time of year. One might be able to survive there in the winter dry season but not now with all the mosquitoes, snakes, alligators, and other shit still fully active, not to mention the regular flooding of large patches of land. Florida is the flattest state in the country so you can't simply walk to higher ground to avoid floodwaters.

I can't imagine being a parent and not helping out your son/daughter no matter the situation. Especially if he/she did something against a complete stranger not another family member which would make matters even worse...
