To me the test is significantly worse than the vaccine.
I take these three vaccinations all day every day over three nasal swabs
I am a simple man, why do they need to scratch the inside of my balls through my throat to tell if I have such an easily transmitted disease?

Variations in viral load shedding depending on timeline and strain.
If you are earlier in the disease and not putting out that much virus and you just get the front of your nasal passages swabbed there's a chance that you miss and get a false negative.
This is less likely as you go farther into the symptoms.
So they basically recommend you go deep for consistency across individuals and disease timeline.
