Can you elaborate?

Please?
Yeah sure, I'm teaching in Thailand it's great but the money sucks balls and there is no chance of career progression here.

I want to do either my Masters in education or PGCE so I need to earn more cash to pay for that.

Saudi is probably best because the money is great and there's nothing to spend your money on. After yesterday's atrocities I think I'll go elsewhere and see what happens in the ME before committing myself to being there for a year.

Anyway I don't want to hijack this thread (no pun intended), just wanted to share the irony.

Yeah who?
Well we had some pretty horrible terrorism over here with the Northern Ireland conflict.

Leigh @Leigh are you a Muslim my man? I notice you sticking up for them a lot around here.
No, I am not religious at all. I think Islam is a horrible ideology. However, judging an entire demographic based on the actions of some members of that demographic is narrow minded. Additionally, there is no place for racism on this forum. I've seen you use the terms "slant eyed" and "rag head" and now you're advocating rounding people up and executing them simply for being part of a demographic.

I like you but you'll get yourself banned if you keep it up.

The world is growing tired of Islam.

It may seem like the OG and a couple guys on here are outraged by the shit caused by Islamic Extremists but check out twitter... millions are growing tired of the attacks. It dosnt help when fellow 'moderate' muslims turn a blind eye to it or detach themselves from it when they share the same doctrine as the extremists. They need to weed out the crazies themselves, not stay silent. Otherwise, they are apart of the problem.

What is the 17 year old Muslim kid who works in his dad's kebab shop supposed to do to weed out ISIS?

What do you do to weed out the bad representatives of atheism/your religion?

Good points.

Although I would love a world where when attacked I could use one of them legal semi automatic weapons we all complain about...

I support gun rights and CCW could have possibly saved lives last night but I feel it's too soon to start using this tragedy to start pushing an agenda (I know that isn't what you're doing)

I live in Australia buddy...It's that far away the explosives would go off while i was inhaling 69 beautiful cigarettes in the smoking area across from Harry's bar while traveling minimum distance...Fucking hate flying.

I don't know the answer...I genuinely like everyone...Until you give me a reason not too.

Then I say...My eyes are tired..My bones are weak. :0

It could also have made matters worse with multiple civilians opening up firing at each other, because they were scared and confused, firing at anyone with a gun.

That's possible. I think licensing would mitigate that somewhat. I don't want to derail the thread with politics though.

I agree, but I think it was worth pointing out that either was a possibility.

Some posters in here are really out of line imho.

Fuck that narrow-minded, extremist crap, you are doing the exact same thing the supporters of terrorists do, how can you be so blind?
You are opposite sides of the same coin.

I'm just glad that I was able to reach all my friends that are currently in France.

Be careful going to teach in saudi arabia, a good friend of mine did this for the money, all curriculum and text's that you teach are pre-screened, a school official was always present in the class so you don't accidentally teach something off the strict curriculum. In the end, the rigid confines of teaching in saudi arabia became too much that he cut he losses and came back to the UK.

If like me, you love teaching, do it for the job, not the money.

The idea of Saudi was accumulate wealth doing something I enjoy. I'm 38 and don't have much of a pot to piss in so while I do fully agree about the job being more important than money - I've got to balance the two. I'll swerve it for now. I've got an interview for a school in China tomorrow. I'll take that if it's offered and reassess in July. One things for sure I wont be able to earn the money to do a PGCE working in Thailand. Which is a shame because it's ace here.

Good info about the reality of teaching in Saudi, thanks for that. I've been told that the difference between one school and another is night and day.

It's in Dongguan.

A mate of mine is teaching at the same school. Decent school by all accounts but in a small city (by their standards). I'll accept the job if they want me, it's only til July to start with.

It's definitely not opposite sides of the same coin. Last I checked we haven't been strapping bombs to ourselves and blowing people up while they eat dinner.

That's ok I don't give a shit about being banned here I will do whatever I want and say whatever I want based on certain situations. My life will continue happily, being banned here doesn't change a fucking thing
