But assuming business owners will do the right thing is a bit foolish. They are driven by greed and the Art of More.
I don't know what the answer is, but forcing higher wages on owners isn't the answer. Small businesses get squeezed out and while large corporations might see their direct labor costs increase, the multiplier that dictates profit margin doesn't move.
How about a nation-wide profit sharing plan? ? Wait - Is that Socialism?
