While Russia's defense ministry said Tuesday that some forces would pull back from Ukraine's borders after completing military exercises, the U.S. has so far not seen that, President Joe Biden said in an address to the nation.

But worrying U.S. officials, Russians troops are instead moving forward closer to the line, including with medical supplies, and being put into firing positions, sources told ABC News.

The U.S. believes that Russia now has all the necessary pieces in place, including 150,000 troops in the region, to launch a swift and brutal invasion of Ukraine, the sources added -- the reason why Biden administration officials have now publicly been saying Russia could move "at any time."

In particular, ABC News has learned that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had told his military forces to be ready to go by Wednesday, Feb. 16, but it is still unclear whether he has made a decision to attack his neighbor.

Russia blinked.

As I said some weeks ago. This was a ploy to get NS2 over the line and an attempt to clip NATOS wings.

He has badly played it.

There will now definitely not be NS2 for 18 months minimum and Sweden and Finland are about to join NATO.

He done gone fucked up. Which tbf is quite rare for him. He has had the theatre of everyone popping over to see his big table but that's about it.

Nothing better for international relations that to claim "victory" when the other side "blinks". I swear adults are just juveniles with more bills to pay.

By pro-white things, I assume it's probably racist stuff since this is a person defending individuals publicly criticizing homosexuals and transgendered people My members of the armed forces. If you don't like it, don't sign up. The military isnt a place for snowflakes who think they're special and the rules don't apply to them.

I agree.

I think the point of the joke is that the military is too woke

But it's not. That's just some dorks that never served and sit around cheerleading their ironic social politics using the military as to foment emotion in easily triggered suburbanites.

Professionalism has always been part of the military. Social media has expanded the scope in which you may find yourself making public statements. Public statements in and out of uniform have always had some amount of limitation once you sign up. Social media has very specific rules that you must follow if you are going to serve.
