The realization that simply destabilizing Ukraine is not enough to prevent it from joining NATO.What's driving his desperation?
I guess the dead bodies in the streets of Ukraine can take solace in the fact that the USA shouldn't have invaded Iraq.Who said it was ok then or now?
Makes sense. But NATO membership is so far off. Like 10-20 years. Or never. Is NATO in this conversation just a place holder for western interests with NATO being the final piece? The realization that simply destabilizing Ukraine is not enough to prevent it from joining NATO.
If Russia thought invading Ukraine was no big deal, then it would have done so in 2014. I am certain if they could go back in time, they would.
The idea that conditions for invading Ukraine now, after it has had 8 years to build a western arms-equipped military solely focused on defending itself from Russia, are more favorable for an invasion than then, when it essentially had no organized military, is laughable.
And when you realize that, it should be quickly apparent that all this talk of Putin's 'cunning' or western 'weakness' is complete nonsense.
Buds, I hope these idiots don't fuck up Chernobyl.
We let any cunt in NATO. It was started to fight ze Germans and we even let those fuckers in.Makes sense. But NATO membership is so far off. Like 10-20 years. Or never. Is NATO in this conversation just a place holder for western interests with NATO being the final piece?
What I mean is that do you think If you took NATO off the table but still tilt Ukraine all the way into western trade, EU economic agreements, you get essentially the same threat to Russia due to the economic and geopolitical pieces?
Also regarding desperation now is it that he doesn't trust circumstances to be better in the future? That he doesn't trust a successor to do it?
That's what I'm doing when I retire.Atleast when watching footage there isnt people yelling "allah akbar" every 2 seconds
You need a sandwich called "the bacon bomb"That's what I'm doing when I retire.
Opening a pulled pork sandwich food truck called Allah's snack bar
You believe EU recruitment and NATO recruitment are completely independent actions?Because there's more than one reason and dumbing it down to just one is really just buying in to propaganda?
I was thinking of a jihad jambalaya as a side dishYou need a sandwich called "the bacon bomb"
Yes. They are not the same thingYou believe EU recruitment and NATO recruitment are completely independent actions?

Completely take NATO off the table. Even take EU membership off the table. You believe EU recruitment and NATO recruitment are completely independent actions?
Not what the question was.Yes. They are not the same thing
That's going to be a very difficult position to disentangle from the American tampering that was going on with Ukrainian oil and gas during the Obama administration.Completely take NATO off the table. Even take EU membership off the table.
Ukraine is a democracy, sets up oil and pipeline agreements with Europe, increases eu trade. Culturally moves to being Ukrainian and European instead of Russian-light.
Russia still invades.
Not quite the same threat. Obviously Russia would still feel threatened by an increasingly western Ukraine but if they had a guarantee it wouldn't join NATO I think they would be content to just keep destabilizing Ukraine rather than invade it.Makes sense.
