I've been predicting from the start a nightmare for Russia, with Ukraine fucking them up badly.

But I'm also not willing to declare Russia's invasion a failure a few days in.
If I were to make a half cocked observation/guess. I think Putin decided to send an expendable amount of troops on a mad dash for the capital thinking taking the capital would force negotiations where he would be in the drivers seat. I also think Zelensky thought they'd get their brains beat in which would force NATO to jump in. It appears neither of them are getting their way for today at least.

Hilariously I heard some dipshit house intelligence guy on NBC talking about how "If the power goes out in Poland as a result of attacks in Ukraine that would be a reason to invoke article 5 and NATO would respond." I was just like "Wow, you motherfuckers are looking for any excuse to war you can find, aren't you?"

One thing I've noticed in the last couple of days, is the only thing being reported, or highlighted for that matter, is success on the Ukraine side.
Kind of makes me think we're only getting one-sided reports. "Russia bad, Ukraine good"

Russia is saying no casualties. Ukraine claiming only 159 killed and 300 wounded. It’s obvious that both sides are taking loses, but ukraine is doing a lot better than they were expected to. US intelligence was anticipating a 48 hour operation to replace the government and Putin thought he would seize Kiev within 24 hours.

This is of course correct.

Crucial for Ukrainians to propagandize to exaggerate Russian losses and minimize its own losses to keep morale up for its own citizens. This is of just basic stuff. But this is also influencing western social and mainstream media.

Several incidents of western media not being able to distinguish Ukrainian from Russian equipment and reporting Ukrainian losses as Russian losses.

Let's put it in context - if an enemy is already fighting inside your capital 2 days into an invasion, shit is still going bad for you on some level.

In 2014, when Ukraine had no real army, Putin's reported threat was that he could 'conquer Kiev in two weeks'.

The reported 24-hour timeline just seems so absurd that it has to be an outright lie.

I think he’s lost the plot m8. And I think he’s terminal.
