If a termite was to get a splinter stuck in its throat, can it cough to clear the obstruction?

Beck's "Loser" has me questioning things.

I went to an Art School graduation ceremony yesterday. Out of 6 speakers, 4 announced their pronouns before talking.

That's the first time I've witnessed this behavior in the wild.

I was somewhere a while ago and they announced "Thank you for being here on this unceded *name of tribe I don't remember* land."

Couple years ago, I was up on some panels for a convention. And they told us that we can't refer to audience members asking questions as he or she unless they specify it

Don't get me wrong. I'm fine with the whole non binary thing. And I've got one friend that prefers when i call her they/them or human. So I go with human

But when they told me that before going on stage, I was like "oh shit. Wtf have I gotten myself into?" lol

AFAIK Every Canadian NHL home game opens with a welcome to (nations unceded land) and so on. There was some controversy in Quebec but I can’t recall why

Beginning with the home opener on October 16, the Montreal Canadiens will feature a land acknowledgment every home game, in honor of the past, present, and future contributions of local Indigenous peoples.

Only one group of natives in the U.S. who never surrendered to US rule - the Florida Seminoles.

Many Seminoles agreed to be transferred to the west and are today the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

But a small few went deep into the swamps of the Florida Everglades and the American settlers in Florida just said "fuck it, not worth going in there and trying to subdue them."

Their descendants today are known as the last survivors. And seeing as they purchased Hard Rock Cafe International in 2007, I'd say they're doing pretty well.

A highly unusual success story for a Native American tribe.

First of all, "galactical".
I think the author meant "galactocele".

  1. Galactocele
A galactocele is a cystic tumor containing milk or a milky substance that is usually located in the mammary glands. It is caused by a protein plug that blocks off the outlet. Once lactation has ended the cyst should resolve on its own without intervention. A galactocele does not cause infection as the milk within is sterile and has no outlet for which to become contaminated. Attempts to drain the cyst are unsuccessful because the protein plug remains intact and milk production continues. Galactocele may be associated with oral contraceptive use.
I always wondered what was at the centre of a cluster of galaxies, now I know it's a milky tit cyst.

I do love that the word galaxy is related to lactation, and the Milky Way is named so because Hera squeezed her titty milk across the sky.

I was delighted to find that this is indeed the origin of the word, this will be added to the huge store of utterly useless information in my brain, which is so full that it prevents me from learning important life lessons, or remembering someone's name 30 seconds after we have been introduced.
