Some of these WBC games have been crazy.
Lars Nootbaar (St Louis Cardinals outfielder) has basically been adopted by Japan. He's putting on quite a show.

He was born in America, but his mother was Japanese. He is the first non-native Japanese player to compete for the Japanese National Team.
He's not only made 2 phenomenal catches in 2 games, from the plate he's 4 for 8 with 4 runs scored. 2 walks and 1 stolen base.

AKA CES
Dude can straight up RAKE. He caught my eye when I was in Arizona last week and he's still killing it.
This Spring he's hitting for a .625 average in 24 ABs. 2 DBL, 1 TRP, 4 HR. 13 RBI and 31 TBs.
It's a different sound when he connects. He hits it HARD. I don't think they measure barrels in ST, but I guarantee he'd be leading the majors if they did.

Ranked as the Padres #3 prospect, he recently signed a contract worth $5.6 million.
He likely won't get an official call up to The Show for 4 or 5 years, but pretty cool to be 16 years old and playing against major leaguers.
He's a catcher and was subbed into the game in the 6th inning.
Went 0-1. Grounded out to 2nd in his only AB.

Ohtani isn't the starting pitcher, but the plan is to use him in relief if needed. We could see him face his Angel's teammate Mike Trout for the first time ever.
Shota Imanaga (LH) is set to start, but the Japan squad also has Yu Darvish available for relief work.
Japan has the edge in pitching for sure, but the bats on the American side are ridiculous.
