New optic? Post it in the gun thread.I've been getting ready to go shooting sometime early in the coming week. I have an optic that I need to zero. All of my shooting spots are in the forest at elevations that get snowed out during the winter months, so I want to get it done now.
I typically shoot at steel, but decided to make some cardboard targets. I made eight IDPA sized torso targets and sixteen basic targets. The optic is four MOA, and my two longest ranges are 75 yards. Once zeroed, I should be able to consistently group within a three inch circle.

The optic is already in there. I switched my M4 from .300 Blackout to 5.56 NATO while ago and still haven't zeroed it.New optic? Post it in the gun thread.
I'm sitting on some new Primary Arms optics, a new Faxon barrel, and some Battlearms ambi safetys that I haven't installed yet. I'll update the thread after I get those badboys mounted. The optic is already in there. I switched my M4 from .300 Blackout to 5.56 NATO while ago and still haven't zeroed it.
I also picked up a fold away workbench and was planning on hanging that up today, but making those targets took up my time combined with the Yankees game and now the UFC.
I guess I'll do it tomorrow, but that will also include meal prep, laundry, another Yankees game, a Seahawks game, and a Cowboy game along with loading up the truck with what I need for target shooting and loading mags.
I was at a gun range earlier this week, and there was a rep there from Sig Sauer. I checked out their Whiskey 4 scope. 4-16x44mm, 2 MOA. I might pick one up for the M5.I'm sitting on some new Primary Arms optics, a new Faxon barrel, and some Battlearms ambi safetys that I haven't installed yet. What optic are you putting on the M5?
I haven't decided yet. I plan to use it as a hunting rifle, so it'll be some type of magnified scope. I need that, fixed sights, a sling, and I plan on painting it. I have work I want to do on all of my guns, so I'm not sure when I'll get to this one. I'll at least put fixed sights on it soon. It was good to see it goes boom though. What optic are you putting on the M5?
What the fuck is that fishing reel looking thing on the shorty? Trigger lock?
I picked up 2 Primary Arms 3-18x50 FFP scopes (Primary Arms SLx 3-18x50mm FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS APOLLO .308/6.5 Grendel Reticle) when they were on sale for $300 not too long ago. Finding the right mounts was more of a chore, but once mounted these should be good for fairly long range (farther than I will be shooting).I haven't decided yet. Yeah, that's a trigger lock. That's one of my home defense guns, so I don't want to have to fumble around for a key, and I still need to pickup a gun safe. I keep locks on anything I don't use as a carry gun. I didn't really have this problem until earlier this year when WA state decided to ban a bunch of shit.
How is that lighthouse still standing with waves like that hitting its bluff for the history of history? Amazing how large those waves are breaking inshore.
I love that wave
That's like 3' Hawaiian. They slowed that video down, and disappeared the dude a bit...& camera work, but still.
Those rocks at some place in time must have been the point. Amazing waves that big can break that close to shore on a consistent basis. I might be wrong, but I think it's a sandy bottom too.good question
I think those rocks protect it a bit
I'm sure it is only a matter of time

Lots of giant rocks around the point, obviously used to be the former cliffThose rocks at some place in time must have been the point. Amazing waves that big can break that close to shore on a consistent basis. I might be wrong, but I think it's a sandy bottom too.
I wasn't talking about the beach. Most huge breaks are over reef. The only other sandy bottom large break I can think of off the top of my head is Puerto Escondido.Lots of giant rocks around the point, obviously used to be the former cliff
There is a sandy beach on the Northside of the lighthouse
Yep, I don't think any reef is involved at allI wasn't talking about the beach. Most huge breaks are over reef. The only other sandy bottom large break I can think of off the top of my head is Puerto Escondido.
