Although I've never ridden one of these and entering senior geezerhood, I like me some bike racing-- especially the Isle of Man(Peter Hickman was baaad).
The Isle of Man is insane.
I'm actually shocked it's not more popular here in the states. It would be huge for a major network carrier to cover it live. There's challenges there because of the size of the track and length of the race, but I think people would tune in and it would be very popular. I know it was available for streaming live last year, but ESPN has like 9 channels. Putting this on one of them would definitely get the viewers.

Although you certainly run the risk of showing a fatality on live TV. So there's that.

Crazy final lap in the truck race at Daytona.

Rajah Carruth (blue 71 running 4th at start of video) causes a massive wreck on the final lap but skates by to take 2nd place. Almost looked like when you are driving on the highway and someone keeps drifting into your lane and you are like "You see me right? Yo...Dipshit!"

Rajah is a dude who started as a sim driver, then moved up through the ranks via NASCAR's Drive For Diversity program. I don't know much about him at all...and he obviously can drive if he was Top 5 on the final lap but the end of this race was like watching a dude on the highway slowly drift out of his lane because he's staring at his phone.

Gray - the dude who flipped - was obviously choosing his words very carefully here...

He also offered a firm "No comment" when asked about how many cautions there were in this race. There were 12 cautions in this one - the most in any Truck Series race.

In that interview, Gray mentions getting upside down at Martinsville - so I found that too just because I'm in a googling kind of mood...

Xfinity race yesterday was postponed to Monday because of rain.
The green flag for the big one was supposed to drop today at 2:30 - but Florida weather is Florida weather so they've pushed it to tomorrow at 4 PM.

So it's a full slate of racing tomorrow:
  • Xfinity @ 11 AM
  • Daytona 500 @ 4 PM
There is going to be some DeeeeeeeeRUNK people at The Speedway today and tomorrow.
FYI - There has NEVER been a doubleheader at Daytona.

Early in the season, many of these drivers try to get as many laps in as possible. To do so, they'll run both Cup and Xfinity. Some even do open wheel on dirt tracks.

With both races being run tomorrow, I see 2 drivers that will likely be driving in both:
  • AJ Allmendinger
  • Daniel Suarez

Long day for those dudes.

Keselowski got clipped by Byron. Took out half the field.

Motherfucker. I had Kez winning. He was looking goooood.

18 cars involved.

There's no way we don't get another caution. Chastain is leading. He has been a blocking madman. He won't give up that lead easy, even if it means taking out the entire field.

I'm watching the Xfinity race. There's a chick by the name of Hailey Deegan driving. She's running 22nd.

They showed her pic. Smoke show.

Yeah,that's Brian's daughter.

22 out of how many?

Haiden Deegan is not dominating like he did last year.A wrist injury has hampered his performance.

5 to go in the Xfinity race. They've been green for 74 laps.

There's a chance EVERYONE runs out of gas before this ends. Haha.

3 cars just ran out of gas. Deegan out of gas. Basically all the Fords.

79 green flags with no fuel stops. Haha.

Now we have OT. The top 10 cars still aren't pitting.

High drama in Atlanta.

LMAO.
Like 8 cars ran out of gas on the last lap. They were dropping like flies - including the race leader.

Austin Hill took it. That's 2 wins in a row to start the season.

pretty wild story a couple years back when the deegans were basically caught cheating. a kid claimed his bike and everybody freaked out.

I was right. She's 16.
Jade Avedisian

Girl can drive. Aggressive.
She was battling from the 4th position for most of the feature, but made a pass with about 3 to go to finish 3rd.

So I called this one.
She became the 1st woman ever to win an open wheel national championship. The Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series.
29 starts. 16 Top 5s. 5 Wins.

For 2024 she has signed a multi-year deal with Toyota Racing Development. She'll continue to drive for KKM in USAC and Xtreme Midgets while also running the full Toyota GR Cup with Nitro Motorsports - which are paved road courses. That season starts at Sonoma in April.

I've watched a few of her interviews. Soft spoken. Humble. Almost shy. But she is a fucking beast on the track.
