Pavel Durov said that he was lured to France by President Macron

It turns out that the French president invited Durov to have lunch together. Pavel said this during police interrogation, according to the French newspaper Le Canard Chainé.

But instead of lunch, Durov was met in France by the local police. Macron did not officially confirm this. But local politician Florian Philippot said that this is quite in the spirit of the French president.

If it was honestly about "drug trafficking, fraud, terrorism and crimes against children", then Musk and Zuckerberg would also be at risk in France, given that those platforms also facilitate those kinds of interactions. Durov made a big deal about giving the FSB the middle finger to being backdoored and "fleeing" Russia, but he's been back there about 50 times between 2015 and 2021. Given that Russia banned Telegram in 2018 before rolling it back in 2020 makes me think he eventually cooperated. I suspect that's what this arrest is really about.

Russia never banned Telegram. I have no idea where you get your information.

Are you trying to come across as the local Russia expert? Because I will straighten you out. It looks like you are full of shit, trying to seem impartial saying things like ok Ukraine's not perfect either or ok Musk would've been arrested as well, and then blurting out some outrageous horseshit like this. Are you anthonyMI?

It's funny how US-controlled Asian countries are trying to suck up to their overlords. There was a drag queen show at the presidential palace or some place like this in Taiwan recently, this was hilarious
