Man. My girls great aunt just dropped some of the wildest family lore I have heard in a long time.

When she gets back home to NY or Mexico or where ever the fuck she is currently living I'm gunna get my chick to FaceTime her so the story gets recorded correctly and doesn't get lost in time. And so I can transcribe this shit into a cohesive story in English lol

Pre cartel crime families in Mexico. If you don't know. Mexican crime families mostly started post WW2. The US was running out of Morphine during the height of the European campaign. So the US state department went down and taught Mexican farmers to cultivate poppies/opium for the US war effort.

They would continue to do so after the war, and obviously were also growing ganja in some places. This would be the start of Mexican drug trafficking organizations, that later would consolidate and form the loose alliances that would become the cartels we think about today.

I mean that is mostly still how they operate. There isn't really one big faction, even among say the Sinaloa cartel. It's multiple groups of families and Orgs under one banner. And if you aren't current on that stuff, there is some wild ass shit going on right now.

So anywaaaaay. The story involves one of her great aunts being a kidnapped child bride by a Mexican crime family and the whole story is something right out of a fucking movie.

Daring rescues and escapes and disguises, political corruption, multiple murders including the fucking priest that performed the ceremony not knowing the girl had been kidnapped. Rapes, beatings. Lots of gunplay. Lots of deception.

Witch craft/brujeria. A seven year old girl orchestrating a midnight escape from a killer on horseback in the pitch black night in the middle of no where.

Fucking story just got crazier and crazier as it went on. But had a happy ending( well maybe not for the priest and people that got murdered lol) and she and her family would end up being free and living their lives.

If you guys are interested. I will try and work up a rough draft of the story arc this week.

Like we are literally already calling out chapter names lolol. "Act 2, Chapter 1" Uncle Santana and the cheese man's rescue"

Venting....Unbelievable few days. My daughter started getting sick on Fri. The prior week she went to urgent care for right side lymph node in her neck. She had some tonsil on that side, etc, but was mostly fine. Rapid strep test was negative, but they gave her 10 days amox script.

this past friday she starts a fever, and saturday she starts getting a rash my eldest calls and tells me....I go pick her up sunday morning to take her to urgent care and 1st think I say when I see her is "thats fucking allergic reaction to the Amox. Urgent care conclude maybe it is reaction, but fever is oddball, so maybe 2 things...reaction and a infection. So throat culture and 2 antihistamines. Strep should have responded to 9 of days worth of Amox, so scarlet fever is a very iffy consideration

Return moday, a little tightness in chest so I'm concerned. Can't get bloodwork cause labs are closed for ho;liday so just gotta deal with fever management...occasional spikes are worrisome105-106. So we do showers and ibuprofin which she responds to.

Tuesday morning, bloodwork and followup after results....a couple signs she isfighting an infection. But urgent care doc doesn't like mix of symptoms and refers us to ER at womens and childrens med center.....wants experts to consider mix of symptoms for scarlet fever, measles or kawasaki disease. ER doc order up a bunch of bloodwork and blood cultures to test for bacterial infections. But he looks her over and asks a buch of questions...he is confident it's some kind of virus that just needs to run it's course and she is responsive and other than fever and splotchy/red looking she seems pretty good. So its wed and just waiting to see if cultures pop for anything and managing occasional fever spike.

She hanging with me at apt and wants me to feed her steak and corn on cob....I take that as a good sign

I’m glad to hear that you’re getting it figured out, friend.

Thanks. Yeah, this is a bit of a budget build as well.

I also have a stripped AR10 lower to finish, but I'm planning to buy an upper and reduce some work on my part.
And I JUST finished my 6.5 Grendel upper. Gas block pin was a pain in the ass, but otherwise it went together well.

I cycled some rounds through it as a sanity check and it went well.

I'll be headed to the range tomorrow to see how it shoots.

I'm always a little nervous after a new build. Hopefully it goes pew pew and not KABOOM!!!

I wrote her years ago during her time in congress about gun control.....she was either intellectually dishonest, or stupid. So now she is enlightened?!?!

What exactly does she STATE as her stance on the 2nd amendment?

my old man had a similar-ish type story, i'm sketchy on a few details but it was was poland WWII, he was a young teen. His younger sister, my aunt, went missing, he swan across some river, being shot at by the Nazi's. Hit in his back/shoulder. Made it across. Somehow randomly found his sister on a train (not sure if it was heading to a camp or a commuter), rescued her and they all got the fuck outta dodge

Just got back from the range. No kaboom, so all went well. I shot about 20 rounds to break things in and test functionality. I was aiming at a steel target at 100 yards.

After that I put a target at 100 yards to see how it grouped and I was pretty happy. My rough zero was high and right. I over corrected low and left, but a couple of shots later I had a good zero and got a decent group. I was using ball ammo from PSA and it cycled really well. I was going to move to 200/300 yards but it started raining so I called it a day.

My lower is all mil-spec so I may splurge on a drop in trigger of some kind.

You can kind of see my 3d print brass catcher in the 2nd pic.

I'm not really sure.

I'll take a look at the LaRue.

Honestly I'm a cheap prick with my guns, so I typically read reviews for a few weeks and then pick something.

I'm not an operator or high level competition guy, so I tend to go with something that's 'good', but not something people gush about.

Only $115

I might have to grab one...

For parody, they go in pretty much everything for me now. Cost to quality it's the best trigger on the market IMO. It's literally a fuck you to Bill Geissele after him and Mark Larue started beefing, and when they dropped they were in the 250 range.

Another option is Hiperfire or Geissele when they are on sale, but those can be significantly higher than an MBT.

Cassette triggers are big ghey and I hate them so I won't reccomend any of those 😂😂😂
