The afc west is playing the nfc south this year. That is going to give you a chance. Steal a division game or two and you’re cooking with gas.

It is sad too me that that the game has changed so much over the years. Pussification, Negrofication, sport turning to entertainment......all of these apply.
Negroification? Something tells me the game wouldn't be anywhere near as entertaining if it was a majority white league.

OK Gook.....let me explain, it's one thing to have blacks playing it's another thing to have them running it and running amok. The game has definitely gotten way more ghetto. don't knock on my window - don't knock on my window - don't knock on my window - don't knock on my window. Sucks but I get it, I'm an old man that longs for less drama and more football.

If Reek wasn't playing football he'd be dead, in jail, dealing or addicted and homeless. That's how far the game has fallen.
Dogg these guys play football for a living. They've always been savage as fuck, even the white ones. You're just seeing it more now because of cams/video.

Olden days cops wouldnt even fuck with NFL guys, they were treated like royalty. Ed o Neil talked about being piss drunk after getting cut from Pittsburgh, driving around shirtless and cops just let him drive home lol. How do you think that interaction would've gone today?

Athletes have been POS off their field forever. It's now just harder to hid. Babe Ruth was a fucking lunatic. Big Ben's past has been pretty much swept under the rug.

It's not a black athlete thing if you have an issue with athletes being POS off the field. Thing is we as a society has deemed that since they are so good at sports we don't care. That said I have been pointing out Hill is a shitty person forever.

This, entirely.

It has much more to do with being told that they're "the man" than anything to do with race. I read a book a year ago that talked about all of the shady things that people in sports have gotten up to. I didn't like the tattle tale tone of the author but everything he said was true.

The apathy regarding their legal/moral issues is prevalent even at the high school level, IMO.

He is basically toast now

That doesn't sound goo
Broncos got a bit banged up from the Seattle game as well
I don't think either team is going to be winning their division, let alone the Super Bowl in the next 5 years. I'm just happy to have professional football back and my post was good natured trash talking.

I do have to say, though, that passing in the Super Bowl was the right answer. Butler broke the rules by jumping that route, which is something the Pats hadn't done that season. Assuming that The Pats still weren't going to do that according to their tapes from that season, the receiver not catching the ball stops the clock and gives Seattle the chance for another play. If Lynch, who was getting packed in that game anyway, got three steps before getting shellacked, they're out of time and lose immediately.

I don't even know who Seattle plays this week

I gotta disagree on the SB ending though

Denver won't get right until they get Russ Wilson off the books. They are paying him 20% of their salary to not even play for them this year.

Okay. What should they have done instead? (I'm pretty new to watching football, so this is an innocent attempt at learning something instead of the usual internet cuntyness.)

Agreed. I think that's the second worst QB contract in the league. Wilson used to be the real deal. I don't know if age, ego, not having targets or a combination thereof is the cause but he's fallen right off the edge of the table at this point.

Lol what?
Butler jumped the route because he read the play. They knew how to defend it.

Lynch had 102 yards on 24 touches and a TD. He wasn’t get packed by anyone, and NE had among the worst short yardage conversion D’s in the league that year.

Seattle also had a timeout left. So if Lynch doesn’t score they can still stop the clock. If Seattle does want to throw, a toss into traffic to Ricardo Lockett of all people is beyond mindless. Unspeakably stupid play call.

Fair enough, some hardcores here

I would agree with this
you had two plays, and they could both be runs or just the first one and then decide run or pass for final play

Football is such great drama
Glad the season is upon us

Hoping Bo Nix looks better at home this week against Pitt, Seattle outing was mostly bad rookie play with a couple good throws and showcasing his agile running capabilities.

Became a bit of a Diva with the New Famous Wife in play.
Also got out of shape for a bit, and hasn't looked the same.

Mostly he was great at broken play style offense and had a great running game and great defense behind him. Seattle isn't that currently and it exposed his pre and post snap passing deficiencies. He isn't great at diagnosing a Defense pre snap, and he doesn't throw over the middle which allows the defense to cheat and crowd the areas he does throw to. At least that is my take.

No Raider game for any Californians tomorrow. Going to have to use alternative methods.

He was offered pretty much the exact same deal that Jefferson got.
4 year, $140mm
$90mm guaranteed; $30mm signing bonus
It would have made him tied for Jefferson as the highest paid WR in the NFL.

Apparently the sticking point was the timing of the guaranteed money. He wanted it all right now. Bengals wanted it to be a rolling guarantee paid out throughout the life of the contract - which technically isn't a guarantee if they were to cut him (unlikely). Basically - Chase wants the bag now.

Keep in mind that he's currently under contract for 2 more years. These negotiations are technically a year early.

As a fan - I don't like the way Chase has handled this entire situation. Attending practices but not participating. Now saying he has zero intention of signing a long-term deal. I'd trade his fucking ass now and get what you can. Maybe a 1 and a 2. Sign Tee to the deal Chase declined, then use those 1st and 2nd rounders you get for Chase to draft Offensive Linemen - something this team has needed drastically for 10+ years.

Chase is starting to smell like a diva, and I have no interest in that bullshit. Move him.
