Not me but helping my daughter purchase her first home, she had to take an online class to get a first time purchaser credit, insurance company, title company, lending bank don't communicate to each other and are all asking my daughter for the same documents.

The mortgage industry is not what it once was, anyone else going through this?

It's a 20 year old double wide with an attached garage on just under 2 acres in the middle of nowhere. It's her boyfriend's great grandmother's home but he doesn't have the credit to buy it. I had a stern talking to him that you realize this is my daughter's home not yours. He understands. My daughter even said if they broke up she would move out and either sell it or rent it to him.

There is still plastic wrap on everything in one of the bathrooms from the install. The place is immaculate.

Paying 108,000 for it. Which is crazy to me with how the market is insane right now.

Just tell them she identifies as a non binary person of color, probably get the house for free after that.

I dont think 108 is bad at all

I live in a very rural area in NY and that would be cheap even for here

I'm just staggering around all punchy from the prices people are asking. 500sf, sinking into the ground uninhabitable shitboxes for $200-250k.

Its absolutely insane.

It's not a bad deal at all, it also has a paved driveway

She is just starting to piss me off asking for my advice and help, when I give it to her she argues with me. My wife just sits there shaking her head saying you two are too much alike.

It's insane, my wife is thinking about selling the cabin with these prices, I refuse to. I'll airbnb it before that.

I'm so glad I bought in February 2020. Right as rates started to drop but before prices skyrocketed and bidding wars. Pure luck

I couldn't afford to buy a house in my neighborhood now and it's been just under five years.

They just slapped up a doublewide on the other side of a fence/wall for a neighborhood of million dollar+ homes right down the street from me. The lot is less than a quarter of an acre. They're asking $240,000 and I bet they'll get it. Some retard from NY or NJ will think it's a steal.

My old place more than doubled.

Unfortunately, everything else seems to have tripled in the same 14yrs.
That's the thing people want to sell because of the high market and I ask them what are you going to find that is comparable for cheaper. Blank stare.
