Off topic from the soccer game and this particular situation but to address one point you made, immigrants from other nations are attracted to Canada because we (are supposed to) pride ourselves as being a cultural mosaic rather than a melting pot, which is a large part to what makes our country great and beloved instead of hated around the world. My humble apologies this event isn't recent enough to make a post on. I'll re-read the forum guidelines...
The coach was definitely just mad they were losing.....to girls!
And the Catholic school definitely did the girls wrong, but the whole commotion started because of the Islamic school. If they had tried to assimilate into Canadian culture like most decent folk would no one would of heard of this (albeit a year later) and the students of the school might actually learn how to interact civilly around girls.
They are not asked to 'assimilate to our culture', immigrants from all over the world are asked to bring their culture with them so that we can all learn from each other's cultures, allowing us to grow as a species and evolve together. That seems to be getting forgotten more and more these days as newspapers like the Sun and people who enjoy that sort of drivel try their best to kiss up to and become more like the United States in every way.
Now, whoever wants to can go ahead and cue the 'So we should all just become terrorists!' promptly followed by another great use of the ignore button.
