Lentils! good stuff.

Personally I either eat purpose specific food, like egg whites and mixed veggies

Filet of pork (tenderloin), salt, pepper, oregano, parsley butter. This tastes better than ribeye IMO but ribeye has that softness that is matched only by filet mignon (beef tenderloin). Only the best cuts for this gentleman!

So I like this thread and my partial previous Thai food post got me wanting to do another. So I made some pad Thai...

Here's everything you need...blows my mind places charge 20 bucks to feed a couple people this dish. So easy to make.

That's rice noodles soaking in the bowl. Let those shits get down for about 15 minutes before you begin.

Also, buy your shrimp headless and get one of those cool ass red tool things you see. You can peel a shrimp in less than 3 seconds with it.

Chopped cabbaged
Diced tofu
Use green onion or chives...i both needing to be used, so I chopped up both
An egg
Garlic
Bean sprouts optional (no fool, they arent optional!)
Soy sauce
Fish sauce
Sweet chili sauce
Shrimp

I like to use peanut oil for most Asian dishes. High smoke point and a good flavor.
Use low to med heat...
Brown the tofu
Add garlic
Brown garlic
Add shrimp
When shrimp are half way done, add an egg.

Now scramble all that stuff together.

When that's all nice and scrambled dry, get those noodles that have been soaking.
Toss them in, add a little peanut oil, and stirfry until soft.

When they are soft, throw in the cabbage and green onion.
Add about 3-4 tbsp of sweet chili sauce.
Maybe 1tbsp of fish sauce.
Maybe 1tbsp of soy sauce.
American? Up the sweet chili, add a pinch of brown sugar and a little more fish sauce. That'll make it a little more sweet and and umami like you taste at your local Thai place.

Mix it all together and stirfry for a few minutes....

Done...
Normal dishes were dirty so we are using our extras. Looks like grandma.... Or Thailand.

I always add some red pepper to mine. I like it a little spicy and I'm addicted to red pepper and sauced based on it. Garnish plate with bean sprouts.

10 minutes prep
10 minutes cooking (ignoring sitting rice noodles in water)

My roommate, who use to own a restaurant in Chicago, made pad thai tonight for everyone we had over. Cheap as fuck and delicious! Well done, good sir!

making Kalua pork right now in the crock pot. using 2 rather fatty tenderloins. if you cant get your hands on banana leaves (like myself) you can substitute a cup of brewed green tea. it gives the same taste as the leaves do.

ingredients:

2 pork tenderloins
1 spoonful of liquid smoke
2 spoonful's of pink Himalayan salt
1 cup of green tea

put all ingredients in the crock pot and mix, set on low for 8 - 10 hours, take out and shred pork. take half of the shredded pork and bake it on a tinfoil lined baking sheet. bake @400 for 15 minutes. take out of oven and mix back with remaining half of pork from the crock pot. (doing this adds the crisp / bark that the pork gets in an actual Kalua style oven). serve with any side. I like doing mac n cheese and a Caesar salad.

tastes identical to the Kalua pork I have had in Hawaii.

I will take a few pictures after work.

I've been doing a no-carb diet for a couple weeks. I cook chicken, hot dogs, eggs, and sausage basically every day. It's getting rough to find new ways to cook the same stuff.

Does anyone want to see a street food thread?

For those who havent ventured into the developing world yet street food is sold by street vendors and can be amazingly good, in some cases better than restaurant fare at a fraction of the price and some of the vendors showcase incredible skills when preparing your dish.

Its also a lot of fun replicating these at home, At my sons 5th Bday party we did a mock fried rice stand for the kids and another Som Tum (Spicy papaya salad) for the grown ups as well as whiskey buckets for the grown ups who kicked on later that night.

Im sure Disciplined Galt @Galt Bluesville @Bluesville @Splinty would have a lot to offer too. Sorry If I missed anyone.

Really? Ive eaten in Thailand, Singers, Malaysia and Fiji and never once had an issue except in Pattaya Thailand where I bought a Kebab from some Iranians are had the mild shits. I had to send Disciplined Galt @Galt out by himself that night while I recovered in bed while getting blown for 3 hours by two sluts, poor girls, pretty sure I had swamp ass IIRC.

Galt ended up running through a hotel lobby naked that night for some reason.

Good times...

Using my savvy negotiation skills I had gotten this chicken head down to 400 baht for long-time, I did have to pay the barfine though. Whilst I was in the shower rinsing my stank off the girl decided to make a run for it, naturally I couldn't allow that to happen so I chased her down birthday suit stylish. Hotel staff had to call the bar and get the owner to the hotel to refund the barfine. I didn't bother to get dressed while waiting so I was standing around with my cock out and about in the lobby for a good 15 minutes, did get the barfine back though so I count it as a win.

Write a damn book. And that has to be the opening line.
Last time in Pattaya I strolled through soi 6 but it was too late and there wasn't much talent. I saw two ladyboys though who seemed interested but I am not into that, despite them looking damn hot most of the times.

I go to my hotel room, sleepy as hell despite it being 12am. I fall asleep and at around 3am someones knocking on my door. I get up and there is Galt with the two ladyboys, same ones I saw before. He tells me theyre willing for 300 baht long time. I said he can go for it (he didn't have a place to stay and I didn't mind) but I'm not up for it, he can stay in my hotel room though lol. He then says he'll find a short time hotel room instead, but ended up dropping them off somewhere (or did he?).

Can't claim he isn't opportunistic :D

Venison steak & scrambled eggs

Season the steak with salt & pepper. Put oil in a cast iron pan and get it hot as hell. The steaks are thin, so they took around 45-60 seconds per side. Let it rest before cutting into it.

Heat some butter in a pot, crack a couple of eggs in, and crank the heat. Don't let the eggs stop moving, constantly stir. As it thickens and gets clumpy, remove from the heat and keep stirring as the eggs cook in their own heat. As it stops thickening return to the heat. Repeat until the eggs are cooked. Remove from heat and stir in some feta cheese to lower the temp of the eggs so they stop cooking.

Serve. I was going to add some cilantro, but it looks like it is time to toss the stuff I have. The venison came out juicy as fuck. Kick ass breakfast!

That's what I thought when I looked at it too. I guess it was just a great angle.
Jokes aside it looks good. Love venison. Especially wild caught we are too used to bland factory farm meat. Love the gamey stuff.

How much does that cost per pound?
