I wish to see GGG vs. Floyd.

Although Floyd probably tools him, it is a very intriguing fight. Floyd could use one more big payday I think.
GGG is too big too good at this time
Huge FMJ fan here...best defense and technique in Boxing history

No way FMJ wants or takes that fight

IMO

I mostly agree with all of this.

GGG is definitely too big and hits too hard for FMJ but as you said, Floyd has amazing defense and could possibly manage to stay outside and pot shot GGG without taking too much damage and win in his normal way.

But Floyd wouldn't dare take that risky of a fight at this point especially considering that GGG is still unknown to so many casual fans. Far too much risk for not enough reward.

agree 100%
meant ggg to big and scary to get a fmj fight

I give Floyd a 33% chance if they fight depending on weight

but he has to protect that record...lotta work that man has put into his career and in ring legacy

How is GGG not the most well known and popular active fighter in the world right now?

not sure but he is a must watch and a once in a lifetime talent

Seems to be a good boy also
I wonder if it's because there's less interest in the sport of Boxing as a whole now? I couldn't name more than 4-5 active boxers right now, and I was die hard back in the 80's and 90's. Or do you think Boxing is as popular as it's always been, but GGG just hasn't become a mega star yet?

Well one he's from Kazakhstan. Not very many people from there live here in the US. It's under 100K plus people. That's not a massive fan base like a Mexican,Irish,Polish etc fan bases. English is like his 5th or 6th language. Early in his career he had major promotional issues in Germanny. They didn't promote him properly and Sturm wouldn't fight him. Another thing is he's really fucking good and no one wants to fight him.

Some might disagree but I believe those are a few of the reader why.

Hard to market him cause he isn't great at english...maybe he will catch on and be mega star. But combat sports is saturated right now so Fans can't watch it all.....I love Boxing and Kickboxing more than MMA but certain MMA fighters are must watch and the sports unpredictability is impossible to underestimate.
Maybe when Floyd is gone GGG will move into the spotlight. GGG is 33 so they need to push him ASAP

I see a super heavy handed assassin with technique and stalking style that reminds me of Cro Cop primo.

so fun to watch...he does a bit of verdun troll face in the below gif LOL

HBO is pushing him hard. K2 has did a brilliant job promoting him here in the states.

He's awesome but he lacks big name competition..he's getting there. Will get there if he gets the Canelo fight, my main disdain is him not accepting that fight at 155 when it was offered. We like him cos of the KO's in the boxing world, that's not as important, he's not a draw yet so even if he's just as talented he's gonna have to meet the demands of the bigger names and not act like one before he becomes one, as he does currently. If he doesn't he might not get a big name fight (who'd want to risk their perfect record and meet a relative "newcomer"'s demands?).

He could have also fought Ward at 170 and didn't, also a fight that could propel him to the bigger stage, but he didn't take that fight either...

He's a good sized draw. He's a bigger draw than Ward. A fight with Ward at 170 has never been discussed.

GGG wanted it at 164
AH well, yes...that then..sub that in. Point is he could've taken the fight with Ward, but wanted to get him to fight at a lower weight..yet he complains when Canelo wants to do the same with him.

I hate catchweights but it's a completely different situation. Canelo has the belt at 160 pounds. Ward has taken part catchweights. He's said he'd move down to 160 for PBF. You can't compare the two.

Oh c'mon bro, ofcourse you can, especially since GGG himself said he'd fight Floyd at 154..

I like GGG, but I don't like this inconsistency. And he gets a TON of shit from his detractors for it.
