What's your favourite fight gear brand?

Here's our question to all of you who train. What's your favourite fight gear brand?

Whether it's because you're always returning to them, or because of a single item that they do which puts other brands to shame, most people have a favourite. What's yours and why?

Hayabusa- I have no other experience. I felt like someone needs to chime in already.

I have Rival gloves that are great, paid top dollar and a shitty free standing Everlast bag that does the job.

Would rather have a better bag, not sure when I'll be able to get one and have it installed I was told that it's a difficult procedure installing a hanging heavybag.

I've heard Gorilla Gear is good and it's quite affordable as well as Canadian, so it cuts down on shipping and ofcourse keeps it in my currency. Havnt tried them yet though, but hope to get one eventually.

Rival are a great brand. As you say though, you pay quite a bit for them so you would expect that! Hanging a heavy bag isn't too hard, I installed one in my place, and I know another reviewer from fightquality.com has too, but it depends on the weight of the bag and what sort of support your roof has.

Have heard of Gorrilla gear too, but we're UK based and I don't think I've ever seen any of their stuff in person. Dread to think how much shipping would cost.

They had the most rashguard designs without skulls, demons or pitbulls, or conan-looking dudes with swords.
I got the ninja falcon, and the mizuchi short sleeve rashguards. The mizuchi is better quality and thicker.

I like the Hayabusa gloves, they are well made and have kept together with barely any damage to the leather, they feel dense when hitting but are pretty comfortable and secure so I can let my hands go. They were good on price too. I've had other pairs but were mostly cheap and fell apart after a few months.

I've tried on a pair of Grant ones those were nice as well, but they are pricey. Haven't really tried too much other fight gear..though I would like to see something like the everlast shadowbox band but more adjustable. Everlast have some cool shit but often they lack quality on the lower end from what I've gathered.

From the ones I used I'd go with Hayabusa for convenience...heard good things about venum too but I couldn't find any 16oz gloves when I was looking for a pair, that's why I got the Hayabusa ones.

Just make sure you hang it from a beam, if you don't it will have nothing to hang on to and you're likely gonna make a hole in your ceiling .. Find a beam and put it through there, I've got mine hanging in the garage where the beams are very visible and it was a matter of just screwing it (didn't even use a drill).

I have a experience with Hayabusa & RDX training mma gloves & I find them really comfortable due to their gel-tech layers inside which keep them better shock absorbing form.

We've reviewed a load of RDX gear so far, and they're usually pretty good considering the low prices they sell at, as long as you know what you're looking for.

Yup RDX is good and cheap..you kinda get what you pay for sometimes though. My bag is an RDX and the gloves that came with it (probably the cheapest ones) got teared up in 2 months, bag itself is holding up nicely even though I added more weight and put a yoga mat + duct tape over it so the gloves don't wear on impact with the leather..and I couldn't be happier.
One issue I've had with the bag is their ceiling hook, I'm not a big guy, but I've managed to break it with a left hook (after about a year of wear), replaced it with this

We're not fans of that type of 'traditional' bag glove in the slightest. They're often just cheaply made to sell/give away to beginners who don't know what they're looking for and offer very little in the way of wrist support and knuckle protection.

Yeah they are horrible, skin would crack under my knuckles..I feel like they may have helped condition my knuckles better in the end, but yeah, not a good pair of gloves that.. basically a gel pad.

For muay thai I use white colored "twins" 16 oz for sparring

and "top king" bag gloves

For Western boxing I use Winning,an old pair of fairtex bag gloves and some cheap ass green everlast for bag work and adiddas boxing shoes.

I used to have the mma gloves and the mma shin guards the fit better than my old "combat sports" brand shin guards.

Nice selection of Brands there! Any particular reason you choose to use different bag gloves for Muay Thai and Boxing?

I some times use my top king for boxing on The angled uppercut bag ,the body snatcher bag, I got the everlast gloves for free as a christmas gift and use those or the fairtex for pads or heavy bag. For sparring you need to have yoiur best pair of gloves so you don't hurt people I usually spend the most on sparring gloves and go cheap on the rest.

My Muay Thai Gloves are Twins, feel like the company is out of business now but really like them. Shin guards are hyabussa better than a pair of twins that I had and sold. Hand wraps are generic anything I can get my hands on (never had a good pair or bad pair). Four Gis, one Judo three BJJ the one I like the best is a Fuji. I think I like the Fuji because it cost less than $100 with shipping and I just feel like it is a great value.

I like Venum gear...especially their shorts. I have like 6 pairs.

Gloves/shin guards - Hayabusa. If someone were to steal my hayabusa gloves I would come after them with the thunder of 1000 Liam Neesons.

Gi's - I wear mainly Fuji Gold Double Weave because I can use it for both Judo and BJJ

Workout gear - Affliction. Because they pay me, but I also really do like their new Affliction Sport line. Its more subtle and I like that. All my shorts for No-Gi grappling are from Virus though.


But this is a shirt I dont mind wearing to the gym or just in general, which could not be said of Affliction 5 years ago.
