All class as usual. Rumble is hard to root against.
Except for the fact that he's a serial perpetrator of domestic violence who really shouldn't be fighting either.

Yeah, i dont understand where this whole "humble rumble" is a great guy thing came from. The guy was suspended from the UFC less than a year ago for domestic violence and has had other women file charges against him in the past as well for abusing them. Police reports detail another domestic violence allegation against Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson - Bloody Elbow

I think its the staleness of the UFC, people tend to forget things that happened because they are looking for that next excitement thats been lacking in the UFC. Honestly I am sure each and every one of the fighters are guilty of alot of things, but havent been caught yet.

You're right. Hitting women is beyond fucked up.

The thing last year was dropped though. Here's hoping the guy UN-fucked his actions, saw the light, and the humble rumble thing isn't an act.

I'm not saying for sure that it did or didn't happen but have those claims against Rumble ever been substantiated?

I've seen a few pictures of his ex women and they just have that look about them that they like drama and would make up some stuff to keep their sugar daddy around.

He got into a scuffle with a woman in 2009, but it was kind of a he said she said situation.

I don't believe hurting women is right. If anyone starts whipping your ass, i believe you have a right to defend yourself appropriately however.

The issue is he wasn't with either of them at the time so keeping him around wasn't going to work. Also, the notion that looking at a woman gives you the ability to judge whether or not they were a victim of domestic violence is ridiculous.

There were two completely separate instances in completely different states with enforced orders of protection against Anthony Johnson. He was arrested on the scene in the 2009 incident. And criminal charges were brought against him, which requires a certain threshold of evidence. Now California has a no drop policy, so that means the prosecutor makes the determination whether to proceed with charges, not the victim. It's based on the evidence at hand. He accepted the nolo plea deal and underwent counseling and community service, which is a very good indicator that the evidence was sufficiently damning.

In the 2014 incident, Johnson was also arrested on the scene at the victim's workplace and refused requests to leave. The police seemed to think they had enough evidence to proceed, with multiple witnesses, but the woman involved declined to press charges, but did want the information documented. She subsequently voluntarily withdrew the order of protection under pressure.

I've worked in the domestic violence field and you can usually easily ferret out the cases that stink and a pattern of abuse. In this case, considering the documented evidence including witness accounts and police reports (more than most cases ever get), it would be hard to believe that Johnson doesn't have a serious problem.

The UFC said they "conducted their own investigation" which we all saw with how they bungled the Thiago Silva fiasco probably means they did very little. Their inconsistent handling of responses to domestic violence (i.e. Will Chope, who was terminated following discovery of an incident 5 years prior to his release and who had gone through counseling and actually showed contrition) is proof that despite the high profile incidents in the NFL and elsewhere, Zuffa isn't willing to engage with the issue in a serious and uniform way. AJ (unlike Chope) is a cash cow so the UFC does what it has to to keep him earning.

My first wife liked to go upside my head. She was not a tiny woman. The last time she tried to fuck me up i left her. Fuck being with abusive people.

My babies mom has been violent on multiple occasions as well as with other boyfriends after me. She was arrested for domestic violence on me, and her 2nd serious boyfriend after me left her b/c she got physical with him as well. And he's considerably bigger than me, and I'm bigger than her.

I hate the double standard women seem to have. There's a reason why I don't get in the face of a big 6'4 250lb bouncer with big ass muscles daring him to do something, because I would expect him to do something. Women however, they act like they can punk anyone out and that just doesn't fly.

Like i said, i don't hit women. I don't think it's right. But if anybody commences to whooping your ass like a grown man, i do believe in defending yourself.

D, I don't think it's a double standard isolated to women. I think it's just that people who abuse are screwed up in the head, regardless of gender. NORMAL women don't act like they can punk anyone out. Abusive people do.

He would not have gotten that call, and even if he did AJ would have fucked him up.

Only one fix....new free-agent Jones rolls over to Bellator to pay some lawyers and settle a debt with Phil Davis!

Thought though...so if Jones is suspended indefinitely, when is he able to get out of his contract if he wanted? UFC can just suspend and not end contracts?

Look at Wand. I know it's the commission but would that be the same thing?

interesting bring ups. I'm curious about this as well. I for sure wouldn't doubt that Jon would not hesitate to pony up for a lawyer if UFC doesn't offer him fights when they can and he's under contract(and not suspended by an athletic commission)

“Jon Jones got through a tough test tonight,” said White. “The real challenge starts now. When you become the UFC champion, and you have the charisma and the personality and all the things that Jon Jones has, this kid looks like he could be a breakthrough star that appeals to many different people— but this is where the real challenge begins. Every scumbag, dirtball, what I call Klingons, all the Klingons, the barnacles, they’re probably trying to glom on to him right now, as he’s trying to walk to his car and get back to his hotel.

“Here’s where the real challenge begins. He seems to be a grounded kid, smart guy, has a good family around him and people that care about him.”

Jon Jones began his mission to stardom at UFC 128 when he defeated “Shogun” Rua for the light heavyweight title. As Jones stood in the middle of the octagon with a giant smile on his face, White previewed us of what was in store for Jones from that point on. White proceeded to paint the downfall of a naive champion due to scumbags and slimeballs. White finished by telling MMAFighting, “Hopefully he can get through the nastiness that’s going to come at him.”

Even better yet, new free agent Jones becomes his own promoter aka Mayweather and flips the script on MMA.
