Jon Jones suspended one year by USADA (mmafighting)
UFC star Jones gets 1-year ban for failed test (espn lots of details)
FULL DECISION: http://ufc.usada.org/wp-content/uploads/Award-6-November-2016.pdf ErikMagraken @ErikMagraken
UFC releases statement on Jones suspension (mmafighting - not exciting)

For tainted sexual enhancement pill, retroactive to July 6.

mmafighting: '"On the evidence before the Panel, the Applicant is not a drug cheat," the arbitrators wrote in their epilogue. "He did not know that the tablet he took contained prohibited substances or that those substances had the capacity to enhance sporting performance. However by his imprudent use of what he pungently referred to as a 'dick pill' he has not only lost a year of his career but an estimated nine million dollars. This outcome which he admits to be a wake-up call for him should serve as a warning to all others who participate in the same sport."

One year was the maximum Jones faced from USADA, because the the two substances fall under "specified" under the WADA Code, meaning they are more likely to have a non-doping explanation rather than something anabolic or the like.'

UFC Statement via mmafighting:
"UFC is aware of the one-year sanction levied against Jon Jones as a result of his UFC Anti-Doping Policy violation, decided by a three-person arbitration panel held on Monday, October 31, 2016. UFC has been advised that the one-year suspension commenced on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. While the decision indicates no evidence of Jones' intentional use of banned substances, it does highlight the care and diligence that is required by athletes competing in the UFC to ensure that no prohibited substances enter their system."

Okamoto kills it again with more details. I'll add the link to the first post.

EDIT: And added link to full decision provided by Raimondi. These guys are seriously going head to head. I think Okamoto vs. Raimondi is the greatest MMA battle of 2016.

So he'll be eligible to fight anytime after 7/6/16? I like it.

Seems fair

He was on the sauce and likely on Estrogen blockers...and they weren't from a Dick Pill LOL

They have to make a stand or everybody who pisses hot will just go google tainted supplements and claim they took that

If Jon can prove he bought/ingested the tainted dick pill before he knew he tested hot then I might give him the benefit of the doubt.

SO a super long layoff and an average performance vs OSP....WIll be interesting to see what Jon Jones comes back to fighting.

A year is a lot of time to get in trouble...or get huge(wonder if he is in testing program during that year?)

I say bulk up and go HW Jon.

The decision specifically says that they do not believe him to be a "drug cheat".

He got the full punishment, so they aren't in bed with the UFC, so maybe we should trust the full opinion of the experts and not just the part that we agree with?

It's a shame he has wasted some of his best years. Hopefully he will have his shit together when he comes back.

This comes down to taking Jon Jones word as truth as to what, when, where he ingested the PED.

Sorry, that is where it starts and ends.

Do you really believe that it was just bad luck for Jon? That he was totally clean and just happened to take the wrong supplement?

How do you get a year for not being a "Drug Cheat"? Was the substance, or was the substance not in Jons System?

"I will take these next eight months to continue my training and personal growth both as a man and a athlete." - Jon Jones;

this resting period will do him wonders. either he loses his edge and "Pre Hit and Run Jones" becomes the undisputed goat or he comes back and wins another belt in an unforgettable, million PPVs selling comeback story.
