He doesn't though, while campaigning he was insulting and disrespectful, now he is licking boots.

And when asked about trade he always changes topic to the military?! Kinda weird. No mention of the EU at all on his side, but an affirmation of NATO and Minsk.He knows he can't afford to lose us. That would have been kinda funny though.

How can you fairly engage in trade negotiations if terms of a past agreement aren't being met by one of the parties?
Going toward the 2% owed to us? Or domestic military spending? Keep in mind, this isn't necessarily anti-German policy. It's his stance on us getting fleeced by countries not meeting their end of the bargain.
I don't see any connection at all. There won't be a German-US trade deal anyway. You are throwing random things together.

In terms of payments for military shit and stuff, like us paying you for using our land, we already had that a while back if you remember, you can kick rocks with that being unfair to you. We'd gladly renegotiate that shit.
And in terms of direct payments for NATO, you pay around 22%, we about 14,5%, so if you want to renegotiate that to fairness, by ALL FUCKING MEANS! Would only be positive for us.

You are overspending on your own, not our problem. Do you understand how the system of direct payment and indirect contribution works? But with all the damage you have caused, you kinda do owe the world somewhat, as we did too a while back.
But, that wasn't the question anyway, it still has nothing to do with trade at all. Its not even in the same realm. A trade deal gives a framework for actors in a system, like companies, clients, customers etc.
Military spending is a governmental budget issue. There is no connection that makes sense, especially when you look at the level where its decided on here.
The fact that you scramble it together only makes me believe you got no clue, sorry.
Lets say we are neighbours, a trade deal for example would allow our kids to trade toys at their leisure. While NATO would be something like me allowing you to use our pool on mondays.
Now, if I neglect to have our pool cleaned one week, would you go to your kids and tell them they are not allowed to trade toys anymore? That would make you a bad parent, my friend.
