There's a difference between talking crap and going out of your way to compliment. They don't have to talk crap to not say nice things. It's easy to abstain. Comics don't give credit when it's not due, generally.
except when Rogan is involved...then you kiss ass

Millions download the episodes of JRE

One appearance can literally jumpstart or make your career...Multiple appearances makes you famous regardless of talent

Anyone talking crap about Rogans made men is eliminating their chance to be on JRE and thus shooting themselves in the dick financially.

The comedy store is sold out every night no matter if Schaub is performing or not, so that's the difference between this and Brooks. Doesn't really bring more eyes.

I'm telling you- comics don't treat guys who haven't paid their dues nicely. Doesn't matter who they know. In fact, knowing somebody and getting spots because of that puts an even bigger target on your back. Schaub got a lot of shit at first. I'm still it exists but guys I respect have endorsed him. I'm not saying he's Chappelle but I think he's doing better than I expected him to.
Didn't he get into it with one of the comics? On one of the podcasts something like that got mentioned. It may be on Joey Diaz' podcast...

But who are the comics you are talking about?
Most I've heard that have been positive of Brendan are generally the death squad crew and rogans others boys like Bill Burr

Exactly what I was going to say
The comics that are saying they're impressed are generally the death squad crew and other friends of Rogans.
Even comics that aren't friends with Joe hardly talk shit about joe or his crew these days because it will destroy their fucking career

I'm not saying Schaub isn't good, he may be... but you do not talk shit about one of rogans boys in comedy
For sure

Burr isn't one of "Rogan's boys" haha he's one of the most successful comics in the world. If anything he's an O&A guy.

Once again, in that case they would abstain. Complimenting Schaub doesn't get you a JRE episode.

I'm not saying this dude's hilarious. I was responding to a comment insinuating that he had no following. He clearly appeals to people. I've never heard his stand up and he's not exactly gut busting on his podcasts but people will clearly pay to see him. They've been doing it for a while now.

Burr made his own success and is amazing but he most definitely is one of Joe's boys
Seriously, they are friends man, Rogan has a lot of friends in comedy other than the death squad guys

Of course he won't be funny, he is American ;)
Lol your television comedy is better than ours, but Americans are funnier when it comes to stand-up comedy.

I haven't seen a Brit even half as funny as Dave Chappelle on the mic.

Gets you closer to a JRE episode than shitting on a made man

I think you know what your talking about...but the logic is very clear here IMO

Rogan has made dozens of careers and everybody knows it

Complimenting Shaub gets you in with Shaub...which is one step closer to Rogan and you get a piece of Shaubs audience(which itself is a small portion of Joes Audience)

Can't speak for his comedy but when he travels and does his podcast live that shit literally sells out
Its crazy.... Go head B Schaub. I can't hate... Get ya paper boo boo
Can't hate either, if he's selling out places that's amazing
Not very many guys come out of mma and go on to do even better afterwards

If you know anything about Bill Burr you know that he wouldn't give out a compliment to a comic who didn't pay his dues if he didn't think the guy was actually doing well. Burr doesn't need to make Rogan happy at this stage of his career.

You're still presenting the only two options as complimenting Schaub and shitting on him though.

Comics will not compliment a bad comic to get closer to a big name. It doesn't work like that. You are right that shitting on him would probably keep you off of JRE which is partially why we haven't heard much of it. I'm sure a bunch of guys shit on him. Comedy is fucking hard and I'm sure it's annoying to see a new guy get all of this shine.

Different styles.
I've watched Rogan, Hincliffe (sp?), Diaz and a few others and it's just painful to me.
Even older stuff like Eddie Murphy just does nothing for me

Oh I agree he has a following
I was pointing out he gets some praise from certain comedians mostly due to his relationships
Most of the guys I've heard that praise Schaub seem to actually really like the guy and maybe it's more of these comedians being more friends of his now
But he made those relationships due to his relationship to Joe
Props to him

I haven't heard any of his standup but I would expect the main thing that he has going for him is that he's comfortable speaking in front of people and is confident in general. Being at ease is a huge part of controlling the crowd. Add in that his crowd is full of TFATK fans and that he probably gets a lot of help from Callen and Rogan when it comes to writing. He also seems like the type of guy that's willing to put in work to get better at something so he has probably progressed pretty quickly.

I'll stop at that because everything else I could say would be negative.

You're right about a lot of it, especially at his live BBB shows. He's going hard at the clubs though, and that can be a brutal crowd sometimes. That goes into your "putting in work" statement. Going up between Rogan and Dane Cook at the Comedy Store is tough, no matter how famous you are. Famous people try to do it (more at the laugh factory) and they bomb hard sometimes. It's impressive that Schaub hasn't flamed out already.

What about Chappelle, Louis, Stanhope, Burr (especially his earlier stuff), Jeselnik, Kyle Kinane, Hannibal Burress.... Have you heard any of those?

Ricky Gervais is probably my favorite comedy TV actor of all time.

"I think there's been a rape up there" (a scene in The Office UK) is the pinnacle of comedy for me. I actually had to pause the DVD I was watching at the time because I was laughing so hard.
