You drove pretty close to where I was a couple weeks ago. I almost flew into Fort Meyers after my flight got delayed and made me get drunk.Drove back from Sarasota last night.
For those unfamiliar with southern Florida geography, the path takes me right through the Everglades, a vast fucking swampland crawling with shit that can and will kill you if it gets the chance.
It's the green and light green shit in the below map:
I had my windows down and the AC on the entire time (automatic tolls so I literally didn't roll my window down once), and still a few mosquitoes or whatever the fuck got into my car and bit me. Do not ask me how. I was born in Florida and have lived here most of my life and I couldn't tell you.
If you break down on any of this stretch of I-75 at night and you try to walk to get help, you will die.
Call for help or wait it out till the morning, but don't leave your car. I'm serious.
The "not so great" outdoors.
Makes me wish I got black instead of gray. But utility beats appearance. Glad you like it though. For as much of an ass as I can be (be it intentionally or non intentionally), I generally have good intentions, and like I said, SOG has gotten a lot of my money and I have never been disappointed, and if you do ever need customer service, they are fucking great. You drove pretty close to where I was a couple weeks ago. Oh, and @Mix6APlix - the SOG pack did good. My 3L bladder fits just fine. Good, simple backpack for a day hike - or even a 1 nighter.
u clean that blade?Last year I cut this monster poison ivy vine with a machete. On my return trip I found it leaking this black ooze of death from the cut.
Pure evil. The vine is about as thick as a beer can.
Oh yeah. I get it bad so I'm always careful. This tree needs to come down (it's a dead Ash) so I'm working on getting the vine off of it. Dead vines are easier to remove than live ones - although the dead vines still have the oil in it. There is no way I'm taking a chain saw through an ivy vine. That's just asking for trouble.u clean that blade?
that oil is amazing at showing up on your nut sack months/years later
I'm gonna hit Red River Gorge in early October this year. Should be able to get a ton of fall leaves pics for this thread. It's a beautiful area. Tons of trails.I'm jealous of your colorful leaves.
Man I hope I can get out on a week-long hike this winter.
